Hi

We are making a freeware Fokker F-27. The exterior model is almost finished, as you can see:

We are now working on the 3D cockpit and the passengers cabin.

The flight model is from Pedro van Leeuwen's F-27. Thank you Pedro.

Awesome work. I've enjoyed Pedro's model for some time and can't wait to get my hands on this workhorse that graced New Zealand skies for many years... and was a pleasure to fly on with those huge windows! Thanks, Kf

I wonder if XP simulates water/methanol injection? I heard an ex-27 driver tell the story of being bored in the cockpit one day and hitting those switches for fun. The experience was brief and intense. Also, in turbulence it was always a struggle to manipulate the rotaries.

F 27, talk about a ghost from the past.

When I hired on (just a pup) with BAL in 1959 they had 10 DC 3's and three F 27's. Within 2 years the 3's were phased out and replaced for a total of 10 F27's.
Hard to remember all the unique features but the total lack of hydraulics has to be at the top of the list. However the pneumatic nose steering was troublesome with many failures and were modified to hydraulic, complete with a electric driven pump and reservoir mounted in the nose gear area. Landing gear operation and brakes remained pneumatic as did the air stair door. Engine power was indicated on a torque gage at 15,000 RPM and the prop operation was a bit more involved than the old Hamstanderds. A real work horse in it's time;o)

Well, we've made some progress, but we are still working on textures. We have remaped the entire fuselage and we have made the PH-FHF livery and we're finishing the 3D cockpit, but everything needs more detaill and dirt. We are also working on normal maps

Cheers

Nice work on that 3D cockpit, looks good so far. Also, I see some room on that panel for a couple of GNS430s :P

I know it's an F50, but similar exterior and cockpit to the F27, just updated with EFIS.
