smoothchat
Here is an improvement for the smoke which I believe needs to be less dark in Xplane 11. Here are 4 different textures at different levels of opacity. I couldn't make it lighter, but I could make it a lot thinner (transparent) which has the desired effect. Just copy one into your resources/bitmaps/world/clouds folder (making sure you make a copy of the original first) Smoke texture replacement XPlane11.zip Edited April 4, 2017 by smoothchat 12 4

xesky
Is it possible to fix contrail by flywithlua script?
Captain K-Man
That 'smoke' shouldn't be dark at all. I've never looked up into the sky to see planes passing by overhead at 36000+ feet and seen BLACK smoke. It's pure white fluffy cloud like contrails. Anything that can make that happen in XP11 would be welcome.

tornado77
which is better? In my opinion, "20" version or too dark?

onlyforbrian
The 5% is best, works great, looks much more realistic, actually it does have the effect of lightening it up. Thanks.

Thanks. I fixed this by opening the plane .acf in planemaker, using menu "Standard", submenu "Engine specs", "SFC/..." in buttom right corner you find "durtiness...exhaust" and set it to .15. I don't know if there would be some DataRef.

paume
Thanks. No intention of keeping the original one.
leen de jager
Next update all edited default-files will be restored to the original version , unless you choose for "keep the old file" during the update. Thats not so bad , unless you have many more edited files. Making a copy of your Main XP folder having all default-folders/subfolders containing JUST your edited files , enables you to let the update refresh all files and just place back your edited files in a batch after updating. MayorBorisJohnson
5% looks good. 1% puff would be even nicer.
