About This File

Hi,

This is the Jrollon Cessna Citation, released to the community with the generous support of Laminar Research. This plane was originally planned to be included as default in XP11. The plane flies alright as it is now, however, significant updates are in the works, Watch this space :) (if you would like to lend a hand, please PM me.

(Please do not contact Jrollon for support with this plane)

I was not expecting this plane to be released since JRollon was disappointed with it.
This was a huge surprise, and the plane's quality is extremelly good, thank you so much for this

There are two corporate aircraft pilots want to fly (passengers too): Whatever version of Gulfstream (and I mean the G1 which I flew through the G700) and the Citation X. Why because they are the class of the GA fleet (until you get into converted airliners) they fly high and fast and will operate out of more remote airports. This is a great project and sorely needed in the X-Plane community.

I downloaded the aircraft a while ago and found it to fly beautifully. I have not been flying it lately because the avionics and cockpit details needed help. I just downloaded the update and found the cockpit MUCH improved. Loaded FMS with a route easily. Started the engines and went to taxi, as soon as I added thrust the reverse clamshells opened and the aircraft started to back into buildings. I have a Saitek X52 and have the reverse set on a slider and it works perfectly. I am not a computer geek so don't know what I have done wrong. The throttles definitely put the aircraft in reverse instantly. Since I can't taxi I can't fly🥵

ANY help would be immensely appreciated.

I couldn't figure out how to turn it on, I couldn't flick things like the APU switches which, I'd assume, are essential to start the engines. Flight checklists would be something to add, or if there is that already, make it easier to know where to find them. This overall is worth getting, I think it's one of the best bit of freeware out there (Hey, that rhymes!)

Beautiful. For a freeware plane, the level of cockpit detail is extraordinary.

I began gravitating towards business jets recently and got hooked on this Citation X. I like detail and speed and this one has both. The plane has been with us for a while, but it's still one of the fastest corporate aircraft designs anywhere. Great job, please keep doing what you know how to do!

Beautiful aircraft love to fly it just one thing that slightly bugs me.. the flaps don't move in the cockpit, i mean they do move in the exterior but in the cockpit the handle doesn't move hopefully that can be fixed quick!

It's clear where this plane needs work, but as of now it's not too bad and I had fun flying it. Would definitely be on board for some improvements.

HOLY [CENSORED]!!! :o

When I got word that this freeware plane was available for download over the weekend, I immediately came on to the .org to see for myself. I read the reviews and comments regarding this plane, and decided it was worth a shot. So, I downloaded the file, unzipped it, and put it into my Aircraft folder thinking that it would be quite buggy since it's still a work in progress.

Fast forward to this morning after my coffee, and once again, HOLY [CENSORED]!

I have the Carenado Citation II S550 in my hangar, and THIS JRollon product promptly blew it out of the water! Ground and flight handling: excellent! I was not expecting crisp control responses from a freeware product (the only thing that comes close to this from the freeware offerings would be the Gulfstream G-IV SP, and even that one is loudly put to shame!), and I was quite the happy flier for the short duration of wrestling this plane around the skies. Some switches aren't usable at this point, and that's okay! Even at this point, this plane is absolutely worthy of doing long private jet flights with the FMC tied to the autopilot. The critical phases of flight are handled quite easily (takeoff and landing), and crosswind flying with 25 kts pushing against the side is handled with aplomb. The graphics rendering on this plane are so good they make your eyes water. ;) In short, if you don't have this plane, GET IT!!!

very well done, one of the best biz jet freeware! thanks so much. The flight dynamics is almost perfect.

I just have a concern: I do not know how to bind the GPS with the AM: the FMS button doesn't work.

Thanks if anyone has a solution, I'm sure most of you found it.

I remembered when I first checked jrollon.com and saw the Citation, thinking how unfortunate that this beauty cannot fly in X-Plane. Wonderful to see a come-back of this Citation! Thxx!

Hi everyone:

Trying to start with some improvements, I´ve work with autopilot:

* Autoland enable.

* Autopilot pitch and roll stability.

* Autothrottle fine adjustment.

* Pressurization set to auto, there´s no where to manage on cockpit.

I hope this could be a first step to improve this nice plane. Also expecting to keep it home cockpit friendly because there is a new tendency to make a lot of functions but no usable with electronics for switches (simvim and similar).

It’s a great airplane and it looks great, but there are some issues. The cockpit feels too dark and the elevator motion is inverted. One odd thing I noticed is that the frame rate is low when sitting on the ground with engines running but it gets better at rotation speed. I’m sure others have found issues as well, but I know that this airplane can be excellent. (I would rate a 3.75 but the forum is limited.)

Response from the author:

Thanks for the review, I am aware of these issues, and they will be addressed in the future.

amazing aircraft thank you for making this we needed this. I had 2 problems with the plane. the fist was that there were default sounds the second was that the thrust was very dirty. but overall the plane is a 10/10 keep up the great work.

Response from the author:

Improved sounds are planned for future updates. What do you mean by dirty thrust?
