ORIGINAL UPLOAD:

Hughes H-4 Spruce Goose [9.21] by Paul B. Jones aka "Dad"

Update to X-Plane 9.21 by HoHun under the Paul B. Jones Heritage License ("MarkR can veto any ######. (carp)" :-)

Original information by Dad:

"Info on one of the worlds most famous aircraft? wot don't you know?

Actually it was part of a plan to use 'cheap' aircraft to replace convoys moving goods from the USA to Europe. The only example flew almost no distance at all, and the whole thing was buried. The story goes that they permission to taxi, but decided to push their luck and lift off, which pretty much ended the story, until the Goose was resurrected and is now on display at.

The X-Plane 9.21 version has a new cockpit arrangement with extensive engine instrumention for all eight engines. (You may have to scroll the cockpit horizontally to see the starboard engine instruments.)

The engine parameters are now as close to the real thing as I could get them.

Some additional tweaking to improve realism, reliability and handling has gone into the 9.21 Hughes H-4 as well.

The aircraft uses HoHun's Cockpit Histopack for historical "look and feel" of the instrument panel: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?autoco...p;showfile=4243

Big thanks to Dad for building the original model, and for his generous license to update his gems to the latest version of X-Plane! :-)
