Posted May 26, 20232 yr I live in Watsonville where KWVI is. I downloaded a file recently (KWVI - Watsonville Muni by TearWearDesigns). I am having problem getting this scenery to work. I have X-plane 11 and 12. The scenery was made for Xplane 12. I have not a problem extracting the .rar file. The pics on the website looks exactly like KWVI. Beautiful. Here is the issue. When I take the extracted file the TearWearDesigns - KWVI and put in the Custom Scenery my XOrganizer says it was not extracted properly so I remove it. The next attempt is click on the extracted TearWearDesigns - KWVI, there is the child folder TearWearDesigns - KWVI. When put that in the Custom Scenery. And start xplane 12, go to KWVI all I get is flat terrain grass and no runway or buildings. I have used XP 11 for years and have not have problems like this. Typically when I create scenery I will rename the extracted file with an a. Example ---------- a KWVI and forces to put an airport at the top priority of the scenery.ini. With this file, I get a problem renaming. What am I doing wrong. Or is a bug? Can anybody help 🙂 Edited May 26, 20232 yr by woodwcr comment

May 27, 20232 yr You haven't installed one of the libraries it requires - CDB-Library. You also have some missing default scenery nearby & have the sim installed in a potentially system-owned folder. OK I understand the missing CDB Library. but I don't understand the missing default scenery nearby in a potentially system owned folder. I've run the installer which would fix (?) missing scenery. What to do. Thanks in advance🙂
May 27, 20232 yr The installer won't do anything with scenery unless you use the "add/remove scenery" or "update scenery online" options. Give a man a fire and he's warm for the day. May 27, 20232 yr Author OK. Thats odd because XP 11 is installed on the root of C:/ (C:/X-Plane 11) and have never experienced a problem. It is not installed in a program file. If I need to put XP 12 on the desktop, can do a cut and paste. Or do another install? In other words how do put on the desktop? Thanks Brett Edited May 27, 20232 yr by woodwcr
May 27, 20232 yr It all comes down to exactly how the folder was created - to be on the safe side we always say install it somewhere else. It always "works fine", until it doesn't... You can move the existing folder then just make sure nothing is flagged read-only. Give a man a fire and he's warm for the day. May 27, 20232 yr Author Brett It was installed just like XP 11. On the root of the C:/ drive. C:/X-Plane 12
May 27, 20232 yr Again, it depends on exactly how the sim's folder was created (manually by you or by the installer). Give a man a fire and he's warm for the day. May 27, 20232 yr Author Hah! It loaded up. Looks good. It was the missing CDB-Library. Who would have known. Surely not me. Don't know if I want to put on the desktop. It seems to run just the way I like. Like XP 11 Thank you Brett
