3D EIGER PARK
scenery X-Plane 11
by Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini

This scenery for X-Plane 11 is dedicated to a very fascinating area of  SOUTH Switzerland.
The protagonist is mountain EIGER (3970 mt. 13024 ft) in the "Berner Oberland".
In addition the Monch (4107 mt 13474 ft) and the Jungfrau (4158 mt. 13641 ft).
It includes a territory of about 500 square kilometers.
Airports and Heliports
Two virtual airports are included with a grass runway: in Grindelwald (about 800 meters long) and  Lauterbrunnen (700 meters)
10 heliports located in areas of naturalistic and tourist interest.
All the villages in the area have been reconstructed in 3D with about 70 types of buildings typical of  area, as well as many buildings
reproduced from real (hotels, stations, churches ...)
All the ski lifts have also been rebuilt (16).
The railway stations in the area are very detailed (Kleine-Scheidegg, grindelwald, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen)
The Eiger reproduced in 3D with 4K texture of the North Face.
For the Monch and the Jungfrau, polygons / textures have been positioned that reproduce the real color (summer season).
The whole area is covered by polygons / HD textures for a very sharp and accurate view.
The whole residential area has night textures.

The scenery will be available next weekend (X-Plane Store)

Gentlemen-  Would your new Eiger Park contain the Hotel "Faulhorn" and it's Helicopter landing pad?

I've stayed there and watched the Helicopters /  hiked the valley.

Thank you!

Hi to all,
whoever has the scenario "3D Matterhorn Park" must apply to it this patch because the mesh +46 +007 of this scenery is in common with that of the "3D Matterhorn Park" scenery and has been modified. The meshes of this "3D Eiger Park" scenery must have a higher priority than those of the "3D Matterhorn Park" or you can directly handle the individual mesh files removing / replacing them. Here the patch: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Av9rxLyBi20agRUuFAuV7Qu44d8k

Hi Fabio

If we put this file in the 3D_Zermatt folder  (that has higher priority than the Mesh_Eiger one) doesn't it confict with the file with the same name (+46+007.dsf) that resides in the Mesh_Eiger folder?

Thanks

"gmazzei"  Hi, to avoid problems, follow Fabio's instructions exactly.
We have re-touched up only some objects and their location in the Zermatt area, because the Eiger meshes have moved some levels (fault of meshtool compiler).
To be sure that everything works you have to put in the "scenery.packs.ini" the "mesh_Eiger" higher than the Matterhorn scenery, you have to do only that, in addition to copying / replacing the indicated files or applying the patch directly. (Very simple). The patch has already been tested by 6 beta-testers and works perfectly.

yes, the Faulhorn is there with a small landing pad

Hi Frank, are the Brienz area and LSMM military airfield part of the scenery?
Do you have a map showing what area is exactely covered?
Grazie.

Hello
The scenario looks great, the beautiful regional buildings (and I know them well for having made a lot of ballads in the area: I live near Lausanne, not far, and a good part of my military service (DCA) was made in the Lauterbrunnen area).
A very big bravo ...
Remain the eternal question with your projects: they integrate this time perfectly with photo tiles (Ortho4XP 1.30) and data SimHeaven X-Europe 2.1.1 (with of course exclusions on your buildings to prevent those of SimHeaven from to appear here) or are we going to fly again in ... an aquarium?

Hi,

I believe that I am in the "Gündlischwand" area covered by the Eiger scenery and I still see broken / crossed roads. My scenery looks nothing like the pictures above,

See the attached file, I recently added the Switzerland area in XP installer before installing the scenery...originally I only had North America installed, so I installed the additional section for  the Eiger Park scenery.

You must open the Eiger Park 3D folder and insert all 7 folders in the scenery.packs.ini:

SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/3D_Eiger/
SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/CablewayEiger/
SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Grindelwald/
SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/K_Scheidegg/
SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Lauterbrunnen_Wengen/
SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Mesh_Eiger/
SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/trees_Eiger_lib/

Hy Fabio and Frank

Thank you very much for these great sceneries! I installed Matterhorn as well as Eiger. It makes fun to see these places in the simulator as near as possible to realitiy as I can see them on my real VFR-flights!

One "problem": With the installation of both sceneiries I lost some big rivers in Switzerland: --> the Rhone in the Wallis and the Aaare in the region of the Eigerpark. As both of them are important vor VFR-flying with landmarks where you have to call the tower (of Berne for example "Z"). I tried to have my scenery.packs.ini as correct as possible (I even see the lake of Thun again) but I am not sure, where the problem now lies.

I kindly would like to have some advice on that topic. What would you need for informations from my part?

Greetings Thomas

@Thomy Fabio is working on inserting the rivers into the meshes we have modified. To insert the 3D models it is necessary to modify the meshes and this involves the erase of all the rivers, lakes, autogen, vegetation ...
To insert the rivers is much more complicated than autogen ...but we are working on it.

HI,

Thanks for the instructions...scenery looks great...no frame rate impact...looking to buy the other areas.

To make sure that I understand correctly - Are you saying that every water body in the two (1 degree x 1 degree) squares disappears when installing the modified mesh?  Does this include the Thunersee and Brienzersee (Interlaken area)?  Is the Weisse Lutschine river (which formed the Lauterbrunnen Valley) drawn in the current mesh?

Hello,
when creating a custom mesh where in some areas the ground level is totally different from the real one, as in the Eiger with the real mountain cleared to be replaced by the 3D model, you lose everything and only the landclasses remain. However, it is possible to build lakes in the mesh compilation phase, as we did in this scenery, and we made them manually for the complete degrees, in practice we have to perforate the mesh. For the rivers it is more complicated and I don't go into details but we are working on it, surely a manual method is unthinkable because for a complete degree we should manage hundreds of thousands of points. We do not have "the scenery generator" of Laminar and we must always find alternative solutions but the result is not always guaranteed. The short rivers in Interlaken are for software like lakes.

Thanks for the response... I certainly understand that an automated process is required to draw all of those lines.  You may want to message alpilotx (Tony Wob) since the HD and UHD mesh that he has created in the past includes water features obtained directly from OSM.  You mention that the "short" rivers in Interlaken are drawn as lakes (I assume manually)... does that include the Weisse Lutschine which flows up from the Lauterbrunnen Valley?
