I wanted to try this one because my experience with the default SuperCub is that it is SO easy to ground loop! Plus this new model has an AoA indexer which I find useful.

So far, I like this EuroFOX because it does not seem quite so eager to ground loop, I can fly an approach with the AoA indexer on speed, and it has a fairly simple cockpit with GPS available if I want it.

I flew a familiarization flight over most of the "The Emerald Milk Run" mission destinations (thank you for that BTW) yesterday and it handled well I think. I do have an Islander model but for now I'll use the EuroFOX. 😉

New Toy

Thought I would throw a couple of liveries together & then take my new toy for a spin. Those big tires with their low pressure and good flotation will be great if there's already tracks. Ski's are good for most snow/ice conditions but for overall versatility throughout the race a wheel/ski setup is ideal. Whether or not such a setup is available for your aircraft will make or break that. Ski's make for good landings, no directional control problems but there's no brakes. Most pilots install four large bolts under each ski right by the axle. the heads provide extra drag for landing especially on an icy surface.

5 New Thanda C208 Liveries

Joao: You convinced me to post these pics & I am going to be posting them on the .org over the next few days.

What I have done here is as follows: Each one was made up using the Thranda Dynamic Livery & then brought over to my hanger & I made some additional modifications. eg. on the Classic Models I added an additional stripe on the forward half of the fuselage, logo's & changed the wheel rims to accentuate the aircraft a little more and then made up a Fictitious Company and made up it's logo to go along with the aircraft & a different piece of art on each tail. The Modern version (Snowy Owl) just got a new set of rims, logo's & the company logo.

As for the art work, all five liveries have a different piece of art that was created by Robert Bateman and that can be seen in any of the bush or tundra of the North.

See attached pics.

Below is a communique that I've sent to them.

"What version of FTLX's Cessna C170B are you using. My version that I created my livery with, was version 1.0.0. I've just become aware that there are two newer versions. They are v1.5.0 & v1.6.0. What caught my attention is that you mentioned a liveries folder that contained 6 other liveries. Version one (which I'm using) does not have that liveries folder at all. That's what originally made me put together this new livery in the first place to add some variety to a plane that was honourably mentioned in the section "Our Birds by Gerard Cuomo.

I'm going to contact "northernlites" because he just recently contacted me with the same problem, but his registration numbers are of a different colour.

I'm also going to contact FLTX Design to see if he can make hides or tails of this issue."

I believe we all need to work together on this problem to get it worked out.

FTLX Cessna C170B - New Livery C-SAGY

Thanks to FLTX for allowing me to put together a new livery for this really nice rendition of the Cessna C170B. A lot of us at the Alaskan Bush Flying Club like this plane but there was only one default delivery.

Had just recently approached FLTX about adding some liveries & he said "go for it. I think some liveries will definitely add to the interest for this one." So, here is the 1st of a few more to come.

Pulled a few pics off of the internet and this one caught my eye right off the bat, so I added a few of the pics I found of her. A pop-up of an exploded view will appear of your aircraft in question.

Second Step - At top of screen click on Standard/Viewpoint then "Ext Lights". For the Landing & Taxi Lights, there is a little box with a green light partway across the page. Turn light off to "unhide" said lights.

Third Step - At the top of the screen click on Standard/Objects. Scroll 3/4 down the page until you find "glass_out_bush.obj in the far right box. Just to the left is another box. Change that to read "Outside_Rain_Glass"

Fourth Step - Hit CTRL+S simultaneously to save your work.

**Now, Don't forget, go back and repeat steps one thru 4 for the other .acf (172SP BUSHTW)

This is all I had to do to get her up and running in XP12.

For those who are more experienced with Planemaker, "Landing Gear Height" can be adjusted, "Payloads" can be modified & "COG" can be adjusted if need be. None of this was required for me at this time.

See examples below:
