Tried using a separate file called instrumentname_LIT , but it doesnt show up.</p><p></p><p>here's a late pic of the connie panel. Your enthusiasm, commitment and helps have encouraged me and many others.</p><p>Well done that man <span class="ipsEmoji">👍</span></p>]]></description><guid isPermaLink="false">340946</guid><pubDate>Thu, 25 Dec 2025 07:47:10 +0000</pubDate></item><item><title>High Performance Propeller aircraft - right roll issues</title><link>https://forums.x-plane.org/forums/topic/334575-high-performance-propeller-aircraft-right-roll-issues/</link><description><![CDATA[<p>I haven't seen updates in a while on this issue, mentioned in the Skunkcrafts P-51 for XP12 pay ware support forum section - the aircraft's tendency to roll right.<br>This applies to all high performance propeller aircraft in XP12 (almost all warbirds), it sounded like some of the more experienced developers are aware of it, but I am wondering about a fix and/or how to mitigate it. <br><br>I think XP12 may be calculating too much of an off-thrust-axis force component, which makes the left wing in the propeller's thrust wash feel a much greater AOA / lift component and therefore causing a right roll.</p><p>Yes, I understand that this force should be there, my issue is about the calculation of the magnitude of that force.<br><br>Many of these high performance aircraft are supposed to fly level without aileron trim... it is not mentioned in the pilot notes, manuals, or pilot memoirs from what I've seen. Yet, most of the replies about this are all about just setting aileron trim... but it shouldn't need that, and many of the aircraft affected did not even have an aileron trim.<br><br>I don't know how to get the technical data to get LR to understand the issue and fix it. 	I tried to code the missile such as to not to cause an explosion when the no-warhead missile hits the ground or water.

	However, this hard-coding unfortunately fails in X-plane 12. I recommend therefore, to drop the missile at above 300 feet as illustrated.

	This tip by our own Fred Perth, involves pressing "next target" while it is in the air.
</p>

<p>
	Most targets spawn in the air, but if not, just click on the target in the map, then lift it using the altitude slider, pause the sim, lock on and then gently lower the target back down.
</p>

<p>
	The lock will remain, and guided weapons can now be fired at it.
</p>
