Thinking about trying to paint the Ryan trainer in the yellow-wing army livery noted by @alpeggio in the comments thread , has this been done already?

To get things started, here's my Yak-130 livery, for the payware Delta Wing Leonado 346.

When we make new liveries, we're expanding what the original can represent, making it more fun.

As a 'nice to have' repaint.

US military has been provided with nearly 130 converted F-16's capable of remote operation.

A proper facility for a remote operation is at present not found for the sim.

But we have the freedom of dragging an aircraft around on the map and determine its course altitude and attitude so to me there is a somewhat satisfying facility all ready .

Will let you all know when this special painted QF'16 is ready for your use.

Just had to put together a Canadian CF-188 version.

Other than the Super Hornet, the F-18 has appeared to have gone by the wayside elsewhere other than here in Canada. We've hung to them way past their prime but have placed an order for a bunch of the F-35's. There are even talks presently going on between Canada & Sweden regarding the Saab Aircraft Company being in the running with the JAS 39 Gripen E to go along side with the F-35 & the AEW&C Globaleye platform. Could get very interesting here in the new year.

Getting a handle on the NMLs for the base liveries-- and this special racing number :- )

Thanks to Jumpei Temma -an amazing japanese plastic modeler-for the F8f rivet drawings. This hasnt been fast but it's been a great learning experience.

So just to be sure I mention- At the moment I do that little bit more of what @Back2theBike pointed out previeously "You're a machine". There's something unique about working on large aircraft like the P8 or the KC-30. However, I dare claim the exercise is exactly the same as when I had worked on the Piper Warrior P-28's or a flying boat.

This tanker comes with boom functionality according to the principle used for the retractable Magn.AnomalyDetector in my ASW Albatross project.

It's got the german anchor on both sides. Updates may come as I am currently lacking some additional Poseidon/Squadron artwork near front exits.

Totally forgot about the club as I've been busy doing liveries for other aircraft for the general aviation category. Over the years I've posted lots of liveries on the .org that have included all categories including a lot of military aircraft.

Just recently, Alpeggio & I have been texting back & forth about the Ikarus C42 & some other issues, when he reminded me of the club & also about posting in the Livery section.

Well! As I had recently done a livery for the JCS F4U-1 Corsair, I decided to do another one last night.

With all that being said, here are the pictures of 3 liveries ( 129411, 18034 & 11LF VFMT) that I have done for this particular aircraft. They can be downloaded in the military section.

Rightfully some further research could be of interest, I may drum together a bit of data on the Timor fleet and its usage later on. Certainly Australian helicopters were part of the early phase intervention in E.Timor... For now, this U.N. livery

This space will track progress on the wartime paints for the lodestar, beginning with G-AGIH in the Norwegian Museum.

As part of learning the matte behavior of this great model, been working on new panel lines for the lodestar fuselage normals; thanks to those incredible plastic gurus at britmodellers for providing line drawings.

This is strictly WIP, but you get the jist...

if all goes well the plan is to add the fuselage panels to all the other liveries already created, but that wont be for a while :- )

I attach here an additional file which is required for correct livery appearance (Matt fuselage AND TAIL).

Referring the screenshots underneath, 1 image is the IRAQ operations livery with arabic print. I have updated the previously too dark screenshots. One of the liveries comes with nose radar.. I struggle a bit with configuration and in xp12 my windows seem to have an issue..[window/glass issue has now been resolved however I let these screenshots stay as they are]

According to aeroflight.co.uk the italian army purchased 24 AB412 "Grifone" in 1987. The fleet is due to be replaced by NH-90's in the near future. An AB412 shown underneath taking some water for forest fire purposes. I will try to find some further details about the Agusta Bell Grifone fleet in Esecito and their use in Europe and Iraq, down the track.

Doing it the Blender way baffled me (small brain), so started to explore add-ons. Substance Painter is the standard, but horrendously expensive. Justified if you're a pro, or heavyweight amateur dev though.

I've now settled on ArmorPaint, £22 and replicates 80% of SP's functionality I think, enough to learn the approach and get decent results with a user freindly interface. It also apparently trains you to make the jump to light speed and Substance later if desired.

Last night (and the reason for this post) I happened on these livery teach-ins, for cars, not aircraft, but the approach is the same I reckon.

The only hurdle (which I don't know how to jump over) is how to import the XP obj8 file into AP such that it can be sprayed up. AP needs a wavefront obj format to import. Is there a 3D converter that does this?
