Takeoff Performance Calculator: FF vs Real

Recently, Just Planes released a new video for the Boeing 777 Freighter, and I took a screenshot of the real OPT from this video. I compared the number on the real OPT to the OPT on FF777-F.
There are some discrepancies, mainly on the N1 percentage and V speed.

Real OPT value:

I tested the same takeoff condition in FF's OTP, first with TO-1 selected and ATM MAX, second with TO-1 selected with the same SEL TEMP (43C)

FF OPT with TO-1 and ATM MAX:

When using max assume temp on FF EFB with RTG to TO-1, the EFB will give 60C as SEL TEMP with 92.9% N1, the N1 value is actually very close to the real OPT number (92.4%). When manually set the assume temp in FF EFB to match the real OPT, at 43C SEL TEMP with TO-1, the FF OPT calculated N1 value as 96.1%, which is about 4% higher compared with the real OPT.

The V speed discrepancies are big, in average the V speed calculated by the FF is 5% lower compared with the real EFB.

I also ran the same number using Simbrief Takeoff Performance, manually set the thrust setting to TO-1, the Simbrief Takeoff Performance almost provides the exact number compared with the IRL OPT in both SEL TEMP and V speed: 1 degree difference between SEL TEMP and all V speeds are within 2kts compared with the real OPT.

It's almost feel like engines on the FF777-F are too powerful, the N1 value when using 60C as assume temp is higher than the 43C in real OPT.

My biggest concern is the V speed. V1 is 10kts slower, VR is 8kts slower, and V2 is 5 kts slower in FF77F.

Since this is the only real OPT with 77F I could find, I'm not sure about other airports/conditions. Perhaps someone with a real 77F OPT could provide more detailed comparison.

Wrong display on eicas

Hello FlightFactor team,

I am experiencing a serious issue with the FlightFactor 777-200ER for X-Plane 12.

Aircraft/version

Aircraft: FlightFactor 777-200ER Extended / XP12
Version file: 020513
X-Plane: 12.4.2-r2
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080
Vulkan driver: 596.49.0

Issue
After loading a saved situation, the aircraft works for a while, then cockpit systems progressively break:

cockpit buttons stop responding
some displays go black/off
textures/objects appear wrong or stop drawing correctly
ND/PFD/EICAS errors appear repeatedly
the log becomes flooded with B777 Lua/SASL stack overflow errors

This happened repeatedly after loading the saved state: LIRF-LGAV-AfterTakeOff

I later saved another situation during the flight: LIRF-LGAV-Cruise1

but the log shows warnings were already present before that save, so this second state may also be affected.

Cargo doors stuck

Just before starting my flight i closed the cargo doors with captain commands and they didnt close, the ground crew didnt respond when i clicked and the door icon showed blue like it got stuck on closing and its in a limbo state, only works by realoading but sure is a shame having to do it all over again

FF777 CTD when trying to use CPDLC with say AI

Hello, please see my log attached, after 3-4 times that I tried, I see the issue is for sure when trying to use the CPDLC services with say AI, sim and aircraft fine until I want to connect requesting the CPDLC service and the sim will crash immediately, sim my log attached, please if anyone can give me instructions or why is happening thanks!

Incorrect AFDS/FLCH logic on takeoff

Description

When doing a non-VNAV takeoff (was doing some base training), the engine rating doesn't change from TO to CLB when selecting FLCH.

Reproduction steps

Takeoff without LNAV nor VNAV
Switch to FLCH at acceleration altitude

Observed result

AT goes from HOLD to THR
FMA goes from TO/GA to FLCH
Selected speed jumps to current speed
Engine rating on EICAS stays at planned TO rating (in my case D-TO2 +57C)
AT increases thrust to match the new N1 from the TO rating (usually +2% N1)

Expected result

AT goes from HOLD to THR
FMA goes from TO/GA to FLCH
Selected speed jumps to current speed
Engine rating on EICAS goes to planned CLB rating
AT decreases thrust to match the new rating

I couldn't upload any screenshots (even compressed) due to size limitations on the forum
I uploaded screenshots of the Ops Manual and FCTM as proof of the expected logic

Incorrect reverser deploy logic on touchdown

Description

When landing, reversers will not deploy until nosewheel is WoW.

Reproduction steps

Touchdown
Bring the nose down slower than usual while repeatedly pressing the "Toggle thrust reversers" command

Observed result

Reversers do not deploy when nosewheel is still in the air
The moment the nosewheel hits the ground, amber REV can be seen on the EICAS

Expected result

Amber REV should appear after main wheel touchdown and subsequent spoiler deflection

Wrong crew interaction (flight deck <=> cabin)

Please consider updating flight deck to cabin interaction. In real life the pilots inform the cabin crew using the PA system in three distinct situations:

arming/disarming the doors
just before takeoff ("Crew prepare for takeoff.") *
just before landing, when the landing gear is down ("Crew prepare for landing.") *

As already mentioned these command require no two-way communication with the cabin and should be PA announcements. Currently this requires calling the purser to their station.

There should also be a delay between the command to arm/disarm (auto/manual) and the doors actually changing state - currently it's instant.

Further more, the FF purser at the moment replies with "All doors set to manual/auto and cross checked."

Cross checks in RL take time as the purser needs to wait for all door operators to arm/disarm their doors, walk a cross to the door on the opposite side and verify its state and then go back to their respective stations. Only then does the purser make an all-call to collect the checks from everyone. I would say that the entire procedure lasts about 30s.

Radio Panel Mic goes off when pressing radio transmitter switch twice

When clicking on the CAB radio transmitter twice (from off state) the button just toggles ON/OFF.

What it should do, when pressed in succession within 1s, is speed dial the purser at L1 station.
This can be then used to quickly call the purser.

Engine sound GE

Flight Factor Boeing 777-200er OMDB to KSFO FMC ISSUE

I created a flight plan using simbrief for the boeing 777-200er for a flight from Dubai (OMDB) to KSFO (San Franciso)

There are two entries in the FMC N85W125 and N80W131 but there is no heading from N85W125 and N80W131. I see only dashes. PNG is attached.

I have tried entering N85W125 and the other entries that are similar to this using the Boeing 777-200er formats but I am always not getting a heading from N85W125 and N80W131. PNG attached (FMC.PNG) and the log.txt is also attached.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Custom WP Sequencing Issue

After selecting a RNAV APP for RWY 29 at LOWW I've created two custom way-points so that I can do a visual approach using LNAV: one is 5NM before runway threshold [2903] on runway heading and another one that is 90 degrees to it [2904], representing start of left base.

While in HDG mode, I've turned the heading bug directly to custom waypoint 2904, selected it as active WP in the FMC and after engaging LNAV I got a message "NOT ON INTERCEPT HEADING". The FMS automatically switched WP 2903 as active and 2904 got removed from the legs page, even though it's still showing on the NAV display. Further more it seems to have changed its name from 2904 to 29004.

Is this a bug or another one of those weird 777 features?

Landing Altitude Message after re-selecting an approach

Steps to reproduce:

select any ILS approach on the ARRIVALS page
establish on the LOC and GS with the autopilot engaged
perform a GO-AROUND procedure by pressing TO/GA buttons once
at 400' AGL select heading mode (or heading hold)
at acceleration altitude select FLCH
accelerate and clean up
level off at missed approach altitude
this time on the ARRIVALS page select just a runway for a VFR approach
as soon as you press EXEC to make the approach active an amber LANDING ALTITUDE message appears

Brake Accum Pressure Doesn’t Save when Savin States

I noticed that the Brake Accum pressure was really low when loading the default state, usually it’s around 3-4 irl when pilots come to the aircraft, so I pressurized the hydraulic system to get it up, and when I saved the state, it didn’t save the brake pressure, and it was back to the low value

ATC LOGON SayIntentions

Using SayIntetions AI, ATC Logon/Status no longer shows a connection established, which also prevents logging off. On my fifth flight with the 77W, the ATC LOGON STATUS page hasn't been functioning correctly. I know it worked in the 777-2. I do receive the acknowledgment message that SayIntentions accepted the Logon request, but the status never updates; it still shows ATC Connection: not established.

Oscillations During A/P Coupled ILS Approach

Incorrect ISFD behavior when tuning the ISFD BARO selector

In the real ACFT the BARO selector on the ISFD has the same logic as the EFIS BARO selector. When HPA was selected, one turn (one unit of change) on the selector will turn the QNH value up or down 1 HPA. However, in the current version of the FF777 the ISFD BARO selector has the same logic as the tradional-standby altimiter. When one turn was done on the selector, the system seems to turn the QNH value up or down for .01 inHg, and then directly convert QNH from inHg to HPA. This results that when the selector was turned under HPA, it will take at least 2 turns to move the QNH up or down for 1HPA. This behavior is incorrect.

WX+T alongside TERR mode

WX+T should usually show +2A, -2A, +2M or -2M or whatever number and "A" for auto or "M" for manual, but instead it shows TERR mode along with WX+T.

RA 2500 callout and some FO callouts are missing.

Hi I recently started flying the 300er as my firts FF aircraft. Its great however even though its enabled the FO callouts for "rotate" "positive rate" are not working I only here " V1" during takeoff. And when I'm landing I don't hear the 2500 callout and also the gpws starts screaming glideslope, terrain and pullup warnings when it on LAND3 whilst the autopilot is engaged. How do fix this I use a mac with apple silicon if that would effect anything.

Strange replay (bug?)

When toggle the replay mode, The plane stays still, only the coontrol surfaces moves (notice the timeline and the location of the plane). I'm not sure whether it is a bug or here's something wrong with my 777. I've tried to reinstall it, but there's nothing changed. So I report it here.
