I was just wondering with the recent upgrades to the default G1000 PFD if there was any easy way to not keep the custom MFD of the DA42 but revert to the Standard PFD representation from laminar which I personally find more "accurate"( even though the custom PFD and SVT is very good and ahead of its time)?

If there is any way I could do this without ripping the guts out of the airplanes code then this would be highly appreciated.

I've noticed that the Aerobask DA42 tends to drift to the right during takeoff if no rudder input is applied.

This seems like a significant flight model error, doesn't it? Since the DA42 has two clockwise-rotating propellers (a conventional twin), the combined torque and P-factor should cause the aircraft to pull to the left, not the right.

Take off ground is quite instable and un real.

Has anyone else experienced this, or am I missing something?

I have set up my physical sim setup to reflect the full DA42 cockpit. All DataRefs and Commands work except for the instrument lighting.

While the flood light works when writing to the aerobask/knob_flood DataRef, writing to aerobask/knob_inst has no effect. I also tried writing to sim/cockpit2/switches/instrument_brightness_ratio without effect. It is a bit annoying, since the instrument lighting is always set to minimum at startup so the G1000 stays dark.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I'm struggling with my newly-purchased DA42.

First, it refused to activate and said that the server could not be reached. A restart helped. Then it started showing me this:

One or more issues were found with this sound bank. Please check the Log.txt for more details.

Aircraft/Diamond DA42NG/fmod/DA42.snd aerobask/custom/headset_connected event:/da42/environment/headset

And then, after I clicked "Understood" on that message to make it go away, I found that I couldn't operate any of the cockpit switches. When I click them, they make a noise, but the switches do not change position. Obviously, there's no effect on the aeroplane; I can't even switch on the fuel supply or activate the avionics. Weirdly, some switches do work to drive the associated systems (e.g., electrical master), but the actual switches do not move inside the cockpit.

for several years I’ve been flying the Toliss A319 and have already completed a few hundred landings. I use the Gladiator NXT EVO as my joystick.

Recently, I discovered the Diamond DA42NG for myself. However, the joystick reacts very sensitively in pitch and roll – for both axes I never had to modify the "Response Curve" or "Control Sensitivity" settings when flying the A319. But I think now it's time to do 😉

Hopefully, someone here can help me with good values for pitch and roll. Which "Response Curve" and "Control Sensitivity" settings are suitable to get as close as possible to the real flight behavior of the DA42NG?

Say I pop the whole LH ECU bus Circuit breaker ,which In theory should Isolate it from the LH Alternator according to the schematic I have attached. The PFD then gives an L ECU A Fail + L ECU B Fail indication in the simulator. A few questions on this....

1)If both ECUs fail, why doesn't the engine shutdown to prevent damage ? Is this not simulated or does it depend on the nature of the fault?

2)Does the LH ECU BUS breaker just isolate the power supplied by the LH ALT ? does the LH ECU bus get driven by the LH main bus for ECU A, and the RH ECU bus for ECU B ? If so why is there a failure indication of each LH ECU ?

I don't honestly expect an answer as my questions are quite complicated, but anyone who has an idea or sub-questions id be interested to hear!

On my Diamond DA42 NG the fuses blow up every now and then. Even when I activate them again, other fuses blow up, completely random. no failures are programmed.

I even reinstalled the plane, it didn't help.

The g1000 PFD and MFD remain blank / inactive and an error message pops up on screen .

The error message reads .

Error: (starting up “g1000 PFD”) attempt to index field ‘lib’ (a boolean value) More info in log.txt and SASLLog.txt

Any help getting my G1000 screens on the DA42 up and running would be very much appreciated .

i need some help here, i just bought the da42 for xplane 11, but it doesnt work at all, also the g1000 is off, no sign of life. do you guys have the issue as me,

And on a related note, could you please update the textures with ambient occlusion baked with more samples? Some areas (mainly the insides of the various vents and intakes on the engines) look awful from up close because of how grainy the AO is.
