As you can mention, we've been missing for the last months, and you worry about if project is still alive.
We want to reassure you - we are alive, and FFA320 project is alive. Right now it is in very-very deep reworking. And all A320 team resources put on this work.
We already have completed new aircrafts platform, and right now moving A320 aircraft to it. This platform is extremely fast and allows aircraft systems simulation of any complexity. The only bottleneck will be simulator itself.
Another platform advantage - its specially designed to make flexible integration with home-cockpits and commercial cockpits, like external screens with multimonitor and via network support and fast communication protocol for linking hardware.

As regards aircraft itself, we fully remade aircraft exterior, according to modern visual standards. And making improvements to interior, to correct the flaws that bother you.
In addition to this, there are will be new functionalities and bug fixes, like ACARS, new realistic weather and terrain radar, full set of reliable circuit breakers, and much more.

Most of this is already made and fully functional. We working hard, and are going to release it as soon as we are confident in the quality of the final result. We can't announce release dates, but definitelly, its not weeks, but months. There is still a lot of work to do.

Rest assured, the 777v2 development is still on track. Different teams are handling different projects, so there’s no slowdown. 🚀

The longest member of the 777 family is ready to join your hangar, bringing even more capability, range, and presence to the 777v2 lineup. Whether you’re flying long-haul routes or pushing the limits, the -300ER is built to deliver.

For existing 777v2 owners, the upgrade will be available for $30, while new users can purchase it as a standalone product for $89.

Powering the aircraft are the iconic GE90-115BL engines as standard, with the GE90-115B also included for those who own the Engine Expansion upgrade 🔧

2025 in Review

As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to look back at what has been a busy, demanding, and important year for us and our X-Plane aircraft lineup. None of this would have been possible without the continued feedback and passion from you (the community), so this post is both a recap and a thank you!

🛫 Major Milestones  

777-200ER v2 - Full Release  

This year saw one of the most significant milestones in FlightFactor’s history: our flagship long-haul aircraft, the Boeing 777-200ER v2 Ultimate, officially left its beta phase and entered full release status.

After a long beta development and feedback cycle stretching through late 2024 and much of 2025, we reached the stability and completeness targets required for a 1.0 classification. This marked the transition of the 777v2 into a mature, continuously developed platform and a clear long-term roadmap.

We recognize that the long beta period required patience, but it was essential to ensuring the 777v2 reached a level of quality worthy of serving as the foundation for an entire aircraft family. The response from the community reinforced this decision, with many of you viewing the exit from beta as a watershed moment, recognition of both the depth we aim for and the years of refinement behind the project.

Exiting beta does not mean development has stopped. It means the platform is now stable enough to grow.

Boeing 777v2 Engine Expansion

A major focus throughout the year was expanding the engine ecosystem of the 777v2 to better reflect real-world fleet diversity and airline-specific operations.

Over the course of the year, we introduced and expanded support for:

• Pratt & Whitney PW4090 (February)
• Rolls-Royce Trent 892 (July)
• GE90-115BL (November, Freighter only)

Each engine option goes beyond simple thrust values. We model differences in:

• Thrust characteristics
• Fuel flow and efficiency
• Performance margins

This work ensures that choosing an engine is a meaningful operational decision, not just a cosmetic one, and allows sim pilots to more accurately replicate real-world airline configurations.

Boeing 777v2 Freighter Release

One of the most requested expansions for the 777v2 arrived on November 19th with the release of the Boeing 777-F.

Built on the v2 foundation, the Freighter introduces:

• Cargo-specific systems and workflows
• Structural and visual differences unique to the 777-F
• GE110B1L engine with unique sounds and characteristics

The 777-F opens the door to a different style of long-haul flying, one focused on payload efficiency, night operations, and challenging performance scenarios while maintaining the same systems depth, fidelity, and reliability established by the passenger 777v2.

🔧 Fleet Updates & Continuous Improvements  

While the 777v2 platform understandably took center stage, we continued to invest time into maintaining and improving our existing aircraft.

767 Cockpit Texture & Model Update

The 767 received a cockpit texture and model update focused on:

• Improved texture resolution, with new effects and higher resolution
• Retuning the dynamic model for all planes and engines
• Refinements to all switches, triggers and buttons in the cockpit

These changes modernize the cockpit visually while preserving the aircraft’s established system depth and handling characteristics.

757 Minor Cockpit Update

The 757 received a smaller-scale cockpit update aimed at:

• Visual improvement of switches, triggers and buttons in the cockpit
• Minor dynamic model refinements

While not a full overhaul, these updates help keep the aircraft aligned with current X-Plane standards.

757 & 767 WXR/TERR Radar and Charts Update

Both the 757 and 767 received updates to their weather and terrain radar systems, improving compatibility with newer X-Plane APIs and enhancing overall reliability and realism. In addition, Navigraph Charts integration was updated to align with the same implementation used in the 777v2.

This resulted in:

• More accurate weather and terrain depiction
• Improved integration with X-Plane’s evolving weather engine
• Quality-of-life improvements when using Navigraph Charts

🔮 Looking Ahead  

With the 777v2 now firmly established, development continues across several major projects. The following list outlines major projects currently underway, but is not limited to these items, as additional projects and improvements continue in parallel.

Further Boeing 777v2 Updates and More Variants

Work is ongoing to expand the 777 family, starting with the 777-300ER

By building on the v2 foundation, we aim to deliver additional variants more efficiently while maintaining the same depth and consistency across the family.

Looking ahead, the planned roadmap for the 777v2 includes:

• Ongoing improvements and refinements across systems, performance, and stability

• Expansion of the Engine Enhancement (EE) pack

• Enhanced FMC functionality, such as the Alternate page, with more advanced capabilities planned

• Deeper integration between CPDLC, ACARS, EFB, and FMC systems, creating a more cohesive and realistic operational workflow

• Optimized display rendering, including improved compatibility and performance with Zink

• Quality-of-life improvements for the Charts and Document Viewer EFB applications

Boeing 787

Development continues on our Boeing 787, beginning with: 787-8

The 787 introduces a new generation of systems, operational logic, and design philosophy, and we are approaching it with the same long-term platform mindset used for the 777v2.

Airbus A350v2 (in Collaboration with ToLiss)

One of the most ambitious projects ahead is the Airbus A350v2, developed in collaboration with ToLiss.

This partnership allows both teams to focus on their respective strengths, with the shared goal of delivering an A350v2 that meets the expectations of serious long-haul Airbus simulation.

Airbus A320 Update

Earlier this year, we announced that the Airbus A320 would receive a major update, and that work remains an important part of our roadmap. While development has encountered an unexpected setback, progress continues albeit taking slightly longer than initially anticipated.

In response, we have taken the opportunity to rethink the scope of the update. Rather than a smaller refresh, the A320 is now planned to receive a more comprehensive overhaul, including a completely new visual design and migration to a new integration platform better aligned with the evolving simulator architecture. This approach will provide a stronger foundation for future development and long-term compatibility.

The A320 update will be released once it meets our standards, ensuring the aircraft remains stable and ready for the future as X-Plane continues to evolve.

A year ago, we released the public beta, and since then your feedback and support have been invaluable. Together, we’ve fixed countless bugs, added missing features, and shipped over 60 updates. The result is a product that has matured into a stable, feature-rich platform worthy of losing the “beta” label.

So, what does this change mean?

In practice—very little. Our commitment to development remains exactly the same. We will continue fixing bugs, refining features, and adding new capabilities.

What does change is that moving forward, each new release will always have a stable version you can roll back to. This means better reliability for those who want maximum stability while still letting others try the latest updates.

Why now?

Internally, we had a set of milestones that needed to be met before the 777v2 could be called “mature.” Those milestones have been reached.
From here, we’ll continue to evolve the aircraft with new features (see the roadmap (https://downloads.flightfactor.aero/products_info/777_roadmap.html) for details),
additional variants (-300, Freighter, LR), and engine options for the Extended Edition.

And with September marking the 14th anniversary of FlightFactor—and the 13th anniversary of our very first model—this is the perfect time to launch the 777v2 into its next chapter: no longer a beta, but a continuously evolving product.

Get ready to haul some serious cargo when the 777v2 Freighter Expansion launches Wednesday, November 19, for $30

The Freighter expansion will be available to both the base 200ER as well as the 200ER Engine Expansion package. The plane will initially be released with GE110B1L engines. For owners of the EE package, the Freighter will get GE115B engines soon after. 

Selected streamer partners will be given access before release, once we get the final release candidate ready. We will be sharing their streams and highlighting other features of this incredible addon in the days leading up to launch day!

Full new 3d, new sounds specifically made for this engine, new EPR model and Trust model within 2% of the real numbers.

The RR engines for our 777v2 are coming together nicely, just some final nuts and bolts to be tightened and final checks to be done🔧📝.

Just a small general update on the state of the progress on the 777. A lot of you have been asking "when is it out of beta", to address that I would like to first clarify a few things. On one hand, it will never happen, on the other, it already did. Let me explain.

First of all, just like X-Plane it self, our product will "always" be a running beta in the sense that we plan to add features and variants for a long time still, which is a positive for you. On the other hand, the 777v2 has long been a stable product with some known issues of course (e.g. zink) which we are trying to solve. In that sense, the product is not a beta at all.

Therefore, for us, being "out of beta" is not that big a deal. So, why then? And when?

Formally to be out of beta, we must have all features present on the "final list", which means we are missing step climbs and a few other features in the FMC. In terms of navigation features, our "beta" has more features than most commercial products and far more than any our former finished product.

What will happen when we are "out of beta"? Nothing really. The updates will keep coming, just as often but will come in two formats, minor final versions and betas. The difference being, when you get a beta, you can roll back to the last stable version. This allows us to rapidly ship new stuff without worrying too much.

So... we are almost there, but this "there" is a formal roadblock for us, which we shall pass and continue. The model now has more features than we ever imagined when we started this project almost 4 years ago, even though we still call it "beta".
