Hello there,

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success using the UH-1 aircraft in X-Plane 12 on a Mac M3 Pro.
I have clearly had less success which is why I find myself here typing this in hopeful anticipation.

The aircraft appear for me in X-Plane 12 and I can start a new flight with them, but I get a warning message when the simulation loads, and none of the buttons, dials, or switches work (almost as if the simulation were paused but it's not).
The activation window also never appeared for me so I have been unable to enter my serial numbers.

I will attach the error message and what I believe to be the relevant section in the log.

	dlerror:dlopen(/Users/m3oliver/X-Plane 12/Aircraft/UH1/Nimbus UH-1 V1.5/plugins/Nimbus UH-1 v1.5/64/mac.xpl, 0x0006): tried: '/Users/m3oliver/X-Plane 12/Aircraft/UH1/Nimbus UH-1 V1.5/plugins/Nimbus UH-1 v1.5/64/mac.xpl' (mach-o file, but is an incompatible architecture (have 'x86_64', need 'arm64')), '/System/Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/OS/Users/m3oliver/X-Plane 12/Aircraft/UH1/Nimbus UH-1 V1.5/plugins/Nimbus UH-1 v1.5/64/mac.xpl' (no such file), '/Users/m3oliver/X-Plane 12/Aircraft/UH1/Nimbus UH-1 V1.5/plugins/Nimbus UH-1 v1.5/64/mac.xpl' (mach-o file, but is an incompatible architecture (have 'x86_64', need 'arm64'))

It seems as if this aircraft hasn't been updated for the new Mac architecture but there was no mention of that on the compatibility requirements page prior to purchase. If anyone has any suggestions for me to resolve this issue I would greatly appreciate it, I was really looking forward to flying this iconic aircraft.

Hi, I'm enjoying the Huey in X-Plane 12 and would like to make a feature request for the official version 12 release. I would like rain and wiper effects to be included. I would also like datarefs for wiper_speed_up and wiper_speed_down that I can map to physical controllers. It's distracting having use cockpit manipulators in helicopters and the rain is always stopping and starting in X-Plane. Thanks for all the great Huey goodness!

	Hello,

I managed to repair the non-functional Landing light and Search light on the Civilian Huey.

It can be done by a simple text editing:

	- open the objects/Civil Folder (located in your Aircraft/Nimbus Civilian UH-1 V1.6 Folder)
- locate the File FUSELAGE_bubble.obj
- make a Backup, if you're not sure what you are doing
- open the File in a Text Editor
- near the End of the File - on the last Page - you will find two Lines beginning with:

	LIGHT_NAMED headlight [...more Parameters]

	LIGHT_NAMED taillight [...]

	- Add a leading # Character to these two Lines, which means commenting them out. Both should now read #LIGHT_NAMED [...]

	- Add the following Lines directly after the Line beginning with #LIGHT_NAMED headlight :
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_sp 0.009295 -1.470061 -2.870394 1.00 0.8 0.6 0 800 0.9
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_flare 0.009295 -1.470061 -2.870394 0.00 0 -1 0 4
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_glow 0.009295 -1.470061 -2.870394 0.00 0 -1 0 0.7
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_core 0.009295 -1.470061 -2.870394 0.00 0 -1 0 0.46

	- Add the following Lines directly after the Line beginning with #LIGHT_NAMED taillight:
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_sp -0.195827 -1.515243 -1.425089 1.00 0.8 0.6 1 120 0.7
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_flare -0.195827 -1.515243 -1.425089 0 0 -1 1 3.00
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_glow -0.195827 -1.515243 -1.425089 0 0 -1 1 0.50
LIGHT_PARAM airplane_landing_core -0.195827 -1.515243 -1.425089 0 0 -1 1 0.35

	- Save the File, (re)load your Huey in XP11 and enjoy!

(I found the Solution by comparing the File to the Huey 1.5 Version, from where i copied the Light Parameters.)

I bought the original UH1 when it first came out and was almost happy with it. I have never gotten the throttle to work in the proper direction and have never gotten my radios or transponder to work with this aircraft. I spent a couple months on this forum and Nimbus support concerning the throttle and never remedied the problem. I finally gave up. This is the only aircraft with that trouble, fixed or rotor wing. I'm using FlyElite avionics and again this is the only aircraft they do not work with. I just attempted to get the civilian version in hopes that maybe it's systems would work, and found that my previous owner discount code was out of date. I didn't realize there was an expiration time. I am willing to throw the dice at a reduced price but I will not pay full price to find out I now have two versions of an aircraft that don't work properly.

Greetings, I thought I’d try out the civil Huey in XP12 but couldn’t get it started. I then tried the military version and no problems starting that one. I wonder what the variation is.

any ideas as the military versions runs great in XP12.

Can someone ELI5 the radio Alt. in the UH1?

If I don't touch it before flight I get a yellow box in the gauge and no needle deflection that I'm not sure what it is telling me.

If I give the knob a spin (if you have explain controls turned on is just says Rad alt 50') the needle moves, I thought to check it halfway through my flight and it was accurate with the baro alt at 600 ft. at sea level but when I went lower than that the gauge didn't seem to track accurately.

What Im I missing with this gauge?

I've become spoiled with the 412, its rad. alt. is very accurate and I rely on it constantly.

As a side I'm glad I've been dialing back the S.A.S. effectiveness on the 412 for a while now so the transition to the UH1 was pretty painless. Such a fun bird to fly and great sounds.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me understanding the UH1 radio altimeter.

	Hi,

LOVING the new Civilian version. I have created a livery (originally for the 1.0 and then the 1.5 version) as a tribute to a real world unit (Snohomish County Helicopter Rescue Team - a volunteer organization associated with the county Sheriff's office) and this new version has several options which allow the model to be much closer to the real one. (e.g. Modernized Tail and External Hoist.)

However, there are a couple of issues present in this build and those are:

Landing and Search Lights - Both only come on during night and they cannot be turned off. Additionally, the landing light is a red position light (visible only from the rear at that!) and the search light is not even close to bright enough. I much prefer the way this was in v1.5 and as is, it is broken in this version as far as I'm concerned. (In all fairness, 1.5 may have been a bit TOO bright on the search light, but this one is just terrible.)

On the Doors and Accessories menu page, toggling the VFR antenna (on top by the cable cutter) on/off has no effect on the actual model. All other items seem to be working in this regard but not this one.

Still working my way through testing this one, but so far I'm quite pleased with it given the exceptions noted above. I'll report any others I find as I continue flying this.

Oh! And thanks for the taller landing skid options! That is part of the above referenced real world helicopter as well.

Is there any way to get the transponder to go into mode C? You can turn it on using the radio, but if you check the datarefs, it's still the same as ON. So, the transponder has 4 states OFF (0), STBY (1), ON (2), and ALT (3). But, the dataref value stays at 2 when you go to ALT instead of switching to 3.

It makes this OUTSTANDING aircraft unflyable on Pilotedge in any area requiring Mode C. Is there a workaround, a patch, anything to make this work? Or any plans to update this?

I love this model but always end up using the AB412 or 206L3 because they have Mode C...

In VR (Rift S) the quick access menu is in the center of the screen. I can't find away to move it or turn it off.

Also if I try to have the controls panel up, it attached itself to the quick access menu in the center of the screen, and blocks most of the view.

Most of the other options from the configuration screen seem to be saved from one session to another. However, the Modern Radios option has to be reselected each time I begin a new session. It stays selected if I load a new flight or reload the aircraft, etc. but if I shut down X-Plane and then come back a start a new session the option has to be selected again.

Hopefully this can be made "sticky" in a future update.

Pressing + or - didn't add fuel or remove fuel. Even going into the weight and balance menu on X-Plane itself and setting a fuel load, the helicopter immediately unloaded the fuel. Any idea what happened? The helicopter was working fine yesterday and I was having some fun crop-dusting with her. Any ideas on how to fix it?
