	First I want to say this is an excellent Helicopter and these are my first comments about the Autopilot function.
</p>

<p>
	I have had this helicopter 222b for just shy of a year now. I have hardly flown it as the autopilot is frustrating.
</p>

<p>
	The HDG and NAV works really well.  The ALT and IAS and VS I can not figure how they work.
</p>

<p>
	If I click on SBY then ALT -ARM lights up, if I click on HDG,  HDG lights up and so does VS. If I unclick HDG light goes out and so does VS light.
</p>

<p>
	When I engage the ALT - ARM it climbs at 1,000ft a min. But blows right through the ALT setting say 2,000 and light turns to CAP and just keeps climing at 300 to 500 ft per min. IAS doesn't do anything that I can see. I have read the manual section on the autopilot. It just tells me what the buttons are, not how you use it to transition from fl2 to fl3. etc etc.
</p>

<p>
	I have run into this type of autopilot before and usually works as expected. Some do need more explanation.
</p>

<p>
	I have read your comments about well most of the stuff is common in other helicopters aircraft etc.
</p>

<p>
	Much better documentation would be helpful where things are different. Like this Autopilot. When someone pays top dollar for an add on they expect excellent documentation as well as a class A asset, which this is.
</p>

<p>
	How things work would be much more helpful than just repeating the names of the switches knobs etc. eg AUX FUEL VALVE, this turns on the Aux fuel.
</p>

	Hi Cowan Simulation!
</p>

<p>
	I bought the amazing 222B in the .org store a few days ago. Recently I've read on your website, that there is a 2K and a 4K texture version available. In my account is the 4K version offered only. For me there is no choice to choose between 2K and 4K version for download. The 4K version is really great of course! But because I do all of my flights in VR I wanted to try the 2K version. I suppose in VR goggles there is no noticeable difference between 4K and 2K version, but the 2K version would help for performance. Is there any chance to get the 2K as well? Thanks and best regards!

	Hi Joshua, I observed that on my rig the 222 wipers will move but do not sweep the rain effect away in their arc of motion. I run Windows 11 fully updated, XP 12 fully updated to latest beta, and XP native real weather. I fly in rainy places a lot. I'm happy to answer any requests for more specific information specific to my use of the helicopters. I'm running the latest version of the helicopters in 4K. Thanks, I searched around some in this forum so as not to be a pest.

	Another short flight test on CZST Stewart Airport by Cowan 222B. Hope you enjoy! If you will notice some weird rotor animation blur effects it's because I tweaked some values on the lua animation file a bit to get a bit of the faster rotor speed feel even if it is not in the least comparable with the amazing job done for the latest born H125

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	recently I installed these helicopters from the spring sale and I have a few issues there. So far I only installed it to XP11.55 though I also have XP12.
</p>

<p>
	The 222UT works well except one issue which also happens i.e. with the XP Sikorsky and others: When the AP is on and the speed exceeds 90 knots it
</p>

<p>
	hangs more and more to the left side while following the input from the AP whether it's hdg or nav. Looks absolutely weird. The H125 doesn't do it.
</p>

<p>
	The 222B has a bug when landing and it's not a 100 % leveled out and perfect landing (but no crash) a callout happens which I don't understand (male voice)
</p>

<p>
	and than the engines spool up or whatever and I cannot start again because the heli turns around his axis as soon as lifting. It doesn't compensate the rotor torgue anymore.
</p>

<p>
	So than I have to reload the aircraft and now gave it up, I only fly the UT currently. Doesn't happen in msfs, only in XP.
</p>

<p>
	With all my 3 222 (also msfs) I think, compared with other helicopters, that the lift and the sink rate suddenly caused by the collective is a lot too much. The result is a very nervous helicopter.
</p>

<p>
	Regarding the H125, which overall is very good, I think that the induced torgue caused by the rotor when lifting from ground is too much. This is not realistic, it's only annoying if no real pedals.
</p>

<p>
	So this is an XP forum but I have the 222B in msfs as well and it's hot to fly but where is the AP? The switches are all blind, no function. Or did I oversee something?
</p>

<p>
	I wanted an helicopter with AP as it is in XP...and helicopter with AP work in msfs, I have the HPG H135 freeware which has an perfectly working AP.
</p>

<p>
	Overall I like my new Cowan helicopters but it would be nice to get some help here...
</p>

<p>
	Cheers
</p>

<p>
	Andreas

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I've had the Bell 222UT helicopter for a while now, but I fly it more frequently now. I've noticed that when I turn it on, the BAT RELAY and BAT TEMP indicators on the panel come on and stay on for a while after takeoff (several minutes, maybe 15). I haven't been able to find any information about this in the manual or on this forum. Can anyone tell me why this happens?<br />
	By the way, I'm using Xplane 12.1.1, in case it's related.

	The 222B had some bugs with the HSI in the last update. Both the 222B &amp; UT also over torqued pretty easily.
</p>

<p>
	I worked out a temporary patch to fix both issues if anyone is interested.
</p>

<p>
	All you have to do is download the attached zip, extract and then drop the contents (222B or 222UT) into the main directory of the respective 222 variants folder.
</p>

<p>
	Overwrite all files.
</p>

<p>
	This works for both 2K and 4K versions, so make sure to update the one that you are using.
</p>

<p>
	I hope this helps and have fun!

	I just recently purchased the 222B and during my intro I noticed there's an auto trim functionality. I turned it on and found that it made handling very difficult when nearing touchdown. I've searched far and wide for documentation on how to properly use the Auto trim and which phases of flight to have it turned on or off, but so far I've come up empty. There's no mention of it in the manual included with the helicopter and I haven't seen it on any of the checklists so I'm guessing that means it's something to be used at the pilot's discretion. Is there any more information on the auto trim system out there?

			Xchecklist in Cowen 222UT 2.60 crashes xplane twice. 1st when changing settings (no. of world objs and screen resolution) I had to reboot the first time for it to run without CTD. 2nd towards landing. Two logs attached:
		</p>

		<p>
			Log1 is not the initial CTD, but a subsequent load before rebooting. Log 2 is after a flight where I cancelled the checklist on takeoff (started with engine running) flew some way and returned to another location but CTD on approach.
		</p>

		<p>
			PS  clist attached also.

	There were a few issues with XChecklist in one of the last updates.
</p>

<p>
	If you use XChecklist then you can download the attached zip, extract and replace the 222B_clist.txt or 222UT_clist.txt located in the main folder of each variant.
</p>

<p>
	The errors were:
</p>

<p>
	Getting stuck on the rotor brake item.
</p>

<p>
	Getting stuck if the windshield wipers were activated before getting to that item.
</p>

<p>
	No other problems. Those datarefs changed at some point and I forgot to update the files.
</p>

	I noticed the HSI course knob on the 222B variant v.2.60 4K is not working as expected. However, in the 222UT variant it does.
</p>

<p>
	Test case:
</p>

<ol>
	<li>
		Tune NAV1 to a nearby VOR
	</li>
	<li>
		Set navigation source to NAV1
	</li>
	<li>
		On the HSI rotate the course knob 360° and observe the following:
	</li>
</ol>

<ul>
	<li>
		The from/to flag does not flip
	</li>
	<li>
		The course deviation bar is not changing on course intercepts
	</li>
	<li>
		When mouse clicking and holding the course knob it rotates the course pointer very slowly
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	When rotating the OBS knob on the CDI the HSI course indication does change.

	Autopilot is on flying via GPS NAV and holding 4000ft.
</p>

<p>
	Seems like I cant raise the collective anymore or I will go into the yellow/red for M/R Torque but for the Engines OEI 1+2 I have alot of room with green. Anything I can do here to fly faster cause it seems slow for the 222. Only 90kts. I know helicopters are not speed demons but I thought the 222 could cruise a bit faster than 90 kts while staying within parameters.
