Hello, Long time lurker finally adding to the forums.

I wanted to scream to the ether that I am working on making a Near Study Level Beechjet for the sim e.g. BE400B/BE400XP and possibly BE400A and the T-1

I worked around these jets as a Line Technician / Detailer for about a 1 1/2, seen them upwards of 4 1/2 as they operate out of KIKV during flight training. The 400XP holds a special place in my heart and I want to share this wonderful and tiny jet by immortalizing it in XPlane. I also desire to follow in Zibo's steps to make something great, and keep it free

Now, I have a decent flight model going, the weight and balance is rough (I don't have an actual tail to steal numbers from RN.) I'm currently modeling and learning to export a working cockpit into the sim, sofar so great. Avionics... well, that's my current issue. I can work on the plane model all I want, but without relevant avionics it just wouldn't be the Hawker. I've done some reading to learn a bit about how to implement custom avionics with C or SASL and safe to say, I'm very intimidated and has no idea where or how to start. If I could receive some guidance for that, I would be eternally grateful.

If you'd like to provide Reference / Knowledge / Advice / Help to the project, feel free to message me. I want to contribute something great

	Thank you for your time

Hello all, and welcome to the official iniSimulations A300-600R(F) ON THE LINE thread.

After some feedback we have decided to share updates regarding this product line both here and on iniDEV.

You can check out our previous two updates over there, but so far we have only shared a few images with the community so far. https://www.inibuilds.com/inidev/2020/02/23/development-update-2.

This nicely leads us into today’s update. The iniBuilds Working Group have commenced their initial testing of the aircraft since our last update and development is progressing extensively also.

So far, you have seen our texturing and modelling and today we would like to take this further and provide you insight into the system depth. For the purpose of this update, we have decided to walk you through, the ELEC system which our Lead Product Manager, Cameron, has kindly prepared; supplemented by a short preview video showcasing this system and the FMOD sounds that compliment our aircraft, that is available to view at the end of this update.

“Today we want to showcase our ELEC system. Now we all know the ELEC system is in many ways the core of an aircraft, with many inter-dependencies with the other core, integral systems.

Let’s start on the left and work our way to the right. The A300-600R aircraft type has quite an interesting and unique ELEC system being a hybrid between early A320s and the older A300-B4 models. Anyway, enough of the history back to the systems! We are looking at the ELEC DC page and in this current configuration you can see that all 3 batteries are connected to the DC essential bus; this state is present in multiple configurations. What we have in this situation, is the APU master switch selected in ‘ON’ mode, ready for an APU start. The 3 batteries are connected as they assist quite heavily with the APU start itself. Please note how all the voltages and amps you see are not the same. They change in real time based on electrical load from the system and other factors all replicating the aircraft documentation and real-life operational sequence.

Moving onto the central image. You can see in this configuration the NORM BUS and ESS BUS are no longer connected; due to the system being powered by an alternative source other than the external power, so they disconnect. Now why is battery 2 connected and charging you might ask? Well when the system detects that the battery voltage is lower than the permitted threshold it gets connected to the DC ESS BUS and charged with the correct amperage level to bring the voltage back in line.

The last system page preview we have is the ELEC AC page. Things to point out here are the fact we’ve modeled IDG oil temperature, based on quite a few factors. For example, if we look at ‘IDG 2’; where the engine is off; this temperature then depends on the outside air temperature at the time plus a thermal oil retention factor. If we compare this to IDG1, where the engine is running, we can see this is dependent on the ELEC system load. To add, please note all voltages and HZs present, all vary in real time along with GEN loading.” Cameron (Lead Product Manager)

With this walk-through of the ELEC system we are providing you with a flavour of the complexity and depth we would like to be present, throughout the aircraft. This enhances our vision to provide the best ‘ON THE LINE’ simulation in X-Plane 11!

As mentioned previously, we have supplemented this written update with a short preview video, which showcases the ELEC system that Cameron has walked us through. You will also see and (hear!) an APU start sequence, from both the interior and exterior, providing insight into the audio development undertaken so far; using FMOD, dynamic sound balancing based on environmental conditions, and authentic recordings from the A300-600R.

We would love to hear your comments and feedback!

Have a great weekend, and stay safe.

Google suggests that I should be able to fix the catering truck positions through Plane Maker, and I have been attempting this under Viewpoint/Dock Ports, but neither "reload the current aircraft and art" nor even exiting and re-starting XP12 seems to give any effect to the adjustments I make in Plane Maker. After sifting through hours of the standard "new guy" posts and videos, Im still sitting at start with mapping the instruments Ive placed on the PlaneMaker 3-D panel to the Blender objects. I have no problem unwrapping and mapping to a png Im using for things like RPM and Air speed, all pics from my own plane but, I didnt really want to go through having to do all the intricate work with the Attitude Ind and Altimeter. So, I opened Planemaker, dropped them onto a panel png, opened my plane in Xplane and used the shortcut (Also used DatRefTool to be sure it was actually issuing the command) but, no Panel_preview png is being created. the cockpit 3d folder and panels folder are there, with my temp panel png but, no preview?
To be sure I loaded up the Laminar Baron, used the shortcut and it dropped a preview in the Baron's panel folder as it should. Im at a loss, seems like a simple process. Open Planemaker, open Panel: 3D and drop an instrument on there, save it, load up XP and snap a preview but, nothing is being written to the folder. Any advice? If not, any advice on how to proceed without the preview? I dont really want to have to build each instrument from scratch

TIA!

MD-90 Mod for the RotateSim MD-80

Decided to finally give this a go after I played around with the IAE mod on the Rotate MD-80. Package will be uploaded to the Threshold forums and might be without the engine mod included, depending on whether or not the IAE mod developer approves it.

	Features:

1.Extended fuselage with added windows and doors that line up with the extension.

	2. All applicable parts and objs moved to match the dimensions of the MD-90

	3. Weight and balance edited and will be continually approved upon as I test further and further.

	4. Edited engine performance numbers and fuel burn specs

	5. Slightly modified control geometry and wing lift coefficients because it seemed like the added weight messed with x-plane calculations even though the real MD-90 supposedly has the same wing as the MD80.

This is an extremely armature project but RotateSim has approved it to be released as freeware and I am excited to share and receive feedback from the community once I get a few other things cleaned up. I'll add pictures and a link for the download once I upload!

	Stay tuned!

	Hi everyone!
I'm very new to X plane, I've been modelling a quadcopter for a competition that requires an X plane 11 model of the things we build. Me and my team have built a drone but I'm struggling with the model because when I load it onto X plane, it doesn't take off. I've created the quad on planemaker, put in accurate parameters where I could, and then used other quadcopter models on this forum to fill in the rest so that might be where the error lies? This is essentially a desperate call for help from anyone who knows what they're doing. I've attached the acf file if anyone would like to take a look
Absolutely any tips, no matter how small or outlandish would help me so so much.
Latest is the discovery that VRS (Vortex Ring State) issues affect multiple rotor designs, typical for eVTOLs, more than they do helicopters. Windy conditions, also the closeness of buildings, may worsen VRS. VRS is when an aerial vehicle rapidly drops (falls) in the vortex it creates by descending too rapidly.

So, the attention seems to shift a bit to eSTOLs for which a 100 m runway suffices to takeoff and land. Below one that's based on the 'blown lift' principle. Propellers produce a fast-moving airstream over the airfoil that generates lift. My question is whether an older more disk-like airfoil design would be more suitable than the rather high-aspect ratio wing. Below you see a picture of the Vought nicknamed flying pancake, which had an ultra-short takeoff. Added benefit: almost impossible to stall. Takeoff could be so short that when starting from an aircraft carrier with enough head-wind, the Vought was able to takeoff practically vertically. Its (obvious) handicap was that its speed was pretty limited, making it less suitable for military purposes. But that is of a minor concern with eSTOLs meant to carry passengers. A speed of 200-250 km/h would suffice...

Request for Guidance to Develop a Senior Telemaster RC Aircraft for Thesis Research

Hello everyone,

My name is Manuel, and I am currently working on my undergraduate thesis using X-Plane.

For the simulation environment, I am interested in using a Senior Telemaster RC aircraft due to its stable trainer configuration and suitability for control system testing. Nominal empty CoG position for this aircraft it +0.5 ft.

(The weight and balance menu reports inches, and it doesn't seem to be loading or unloading weapons into account at all, but that's difficult to tell at the moment as just bringing up that menu tends to change my weapons loadout unpredictably - I think that's an unrelated bug which was introduced pretty recently.)

Though technically, this way of handling is not a bug but intended behaviour, in my opinion this should be treated like a bug since it means you can break your model in a way that's very obscure.

I just notice that not only the CoG position now gets reported in percent of mean chord in Planemaker (with my nominal CoG poistion of +0.5 ft being almost exactly at 25%), but it also promises that by ticking a box, I can make the "load manager", which I presume is the simulations weight-and-balance menu, show the CoG position in percent of mean chord. On further checking, Planemaker's CG Check doesn't switch over to percent of mean chord to go along with the checkbox, so that only complicates things further.

So, my example aircraft:

CoG empty, nominal, in Planemaker: 25% MAC

CoG empty, simulated, in X-Plane's WEIGHT, BALANCE, & FUEL screen: 18.6% MAC

I would say that makes it a regular bug now, but I'd be interested in your opinion - do you think automatical CoG shifting when adding weapons is a desirable feature?

(I thought I'd write two sentences on this and be done, but I guess that's how it is with quagmires. Still more undiscussed aspects to this ... for me, many weapons stations are options - carry two small bombs on the off-centre racks or a single one of the central rack? Never all three ...)

Regards,

Henning (HoHun)

Jett/slung loads U/S in 12.4.1?

Is anyone else seeing that the 'Jettison the payload' command is not working? I have flown modern aircraft, but the classics appeal to me more, especially the old Boeings. I really enjoy the 707 and its variants, although we still don't have a "study" version here in X-Plane, or on other platforms, since FSX.

An aircraft that, while not derived from the 707, is derived from the still-active 367-80 is the KC-135, which I love, but not its R version, rather the E, with TF-33 engines.

There is currently a very good KC-135, but the variant with CFM engines, which is @MajorChris (I'll leave a link below for those who don't know it).

Where I come from, it's considered a bit impolite to ask someone to build your plane, and the "do-it-yourself" approach is very common, but I'm really not that good at it.

I was doing some modifications to MajorChris's KC-135R, and I was doing a lot of testing with JT3D engines I had lying around. I think I tried the one from Shenzhen's 720, (which is another plane I've enjoyed flying a lot). But it didn't turn out well, so I finally used one of the engines installed in Wilson's 707.

And here's where I should mention that this is a private project, as I don't intend to publish it, much less without the authors' permission. Regarding this, I tried to contact Mr. Chris about "working with" his KC. He posted videos on his YouTube channel about the progress of his project, announcing a major update with more features, especially for the refueling system, which would be much cooler and more advanced (I recommend watching it). However, he himself has been inactive for a long time. I've tried to contact him even now without success.

And about Michael Wilson, well, he has many classic airplanes that, while not technically accurate, are very good, both visually and functionally. However, his products haven't been available for a long time, and I haven't been able to get in touch with him either. Many people still ask about him, and as far as I could find out, they say he's passed away. So, on that front, this is over for now.

Now, regarding the aircraft's condition:

Only the engines were installed in the KC-135A to 135E modification. Externally, only TF-33 engines (actually JT3D engines from Boeing 707s decommissioned in the United States) were installed, starting in 1982. In addition, the vertical stabilizer was also replaced with a taller one from a 707. Since this is a modification of the KC-135, only the power plant needed to be changed. That has been done, so the wings and their animations function correctly.

The engines retain almost all their animations, the intake doors all work, but I don't think the reverse thrust animation is working. And something I can confirm is dead is the fan animation, which I don't know how to recover or reactivate/animate with PlaneMaker (it's the only thing I'm even moderately good at).

On the other hand, the sounds I copied were removed and now have default sounds. I don't know what happened. In previous tests, I also had smoke effects, which weren't properly aligned with the engines. These had been placed one by one, but I couldn't find a window to adjust their placement (referring to the smoke effects). Currently, these are gone, so I would have to add them again. The engine heat effects are there and working fine.

I made this modification quite a while ago and haven't paid much attention to it since; in fact, my interest only recently resurfaced. But I still haven't found the answers to these details of this first "Visual-Exterior" stage. So, if there's anyone knowledgeable who'd like to participate, I'd be very welcome.

I hope to contact MajorChris in the future to discuss this. Speaking of the engines that can't be used, I plan to find some that we can, or ideally, design our own someday. For now, it's a bit complicated due to lack of time (knowledge can always be acquired).

Until then, this would be a private version, always respecting the authors.

New to Planemaker: Wing Area Question

Hello, I am very new to Planemaker. I went and froze the animation of the boom in the retracted position for those wishing to fly this aircraft without having the boom come down when the gear goes up. It is however frozen in this position and will not extend. Just replace the KC-10 Fuselage .obj with the one attached. (Save your current one)
