I've been flying on EFL C172 on G530 avionics and steam gauges and I managed to make my setup nice and effective:

• Main sim screen on external 4k display

• Gauges on MacBook screen from Air Manager Desktop 5

• Ipad set as external display running G530 pilot with no bezel (X-Plane setting)

• Streamdeck+ configured to control avionics

• Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo and Charlie

Wanted to achieve even better realism and immersion I got Airfoillabs C172 NG Analog, and all my setup collapsed:

• Switches on Alpha stopped working - I can see on Air Manager, that the switch has been pressed, but it is not visible on the sim

• Streamdeck configuration is lost, and I am not able to reconfigure it - for example, I've got dial press mapped as sim/GPS/g430n1_ent - it does not react

• Avionics behaves strangely - I cannot activate it from my yoke as I used to, but when I click it manually with trackpad, it appears on the ipad, I confirm the first two startup screens and an ipad goes dark - no avionics at all

That was just after the first try - I cannot go further as the main stuff does not work at all. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that this solution is a game inside game being not compatible with standard X-Plane controls.

Any comments appreciated, for now I feel as I've just lost $50...

I tried to get it to work but I simply cant. How can I get these lights to work? Its just sad that this seems the only (for me atleast) vital part that I cant immerse myself into flying at nights without instrument lights... I searched the forum and I know that these instrument lights should be turned on by one of the 4 rotary switches near the throttle...

I already invested hours only to get this to work under MXLinux 23.6 (Debian 12 derivative) and I dont have more then like 4 months linux "experience". I dont want to switch to windows but I dont want to "get my life eaten" by troubleshooting either... Sorry for the rant.

I am greatfull for any help :-)

EDIT: All standard things already done: reinstall, vanilla x-plane reinstall, tried beta with SkunkcraftsUpdater_lin, many many buttons and switches assigned and tested, manually failed the system per xjet plugin and fixed it, circuit breaker tested, loading new into the night doesnt do anything in that regard...

I'm having a problem I can't seem to fix with the C172 NG I bought.

For a while now, I've been getting a broken cockpit image on a red background whenever I load this aircraft. No matter how many times I reinstall it after deleting everything, the installation goes smoothly, but that red screen keeps coming back. All other aircraft work fine (Apparently, I don't have any licensing issues).

Could you help me please ?

This is a bug I reported years ago through the airfoilabs website but that has never been corrected.

On the C172 G1000, the AutoPilot circuit breaker is not working.

Normally, in case of an autopilot issue where the regular AP disconnect is not working, pulling this breaker should disengage the AP. On the airfoilabs C172 it does nothing.

I didn't want to buy a plane that still has problems with the autopilot engaging after takeoff.

I don't want to go through stress, is it worth it or is it better to save my money?

Please be honest, has anyone regretted it?

Or is anyone very happy with the plane?

Don't suppose anyone has figured out if there is a way to change the VFR button on the Garmin 328 transponder in the C172NG Analog from transponder code 7000 (Europe VFR) to 1200 (US VFR)?

It's a nice to have and I suspect there isn't a way but thought I'd ask.

I wanted to first and foremost say what an outstanding aircraft this is to fly in X Plane 12 and how it simulates the study level detail of one in the process of obtaining their private pilots license.

I wanted to ask if there is any official documentation for this aircraft and where I could find it if so? I notice that in the aircraft folder there is none. I can, however, utilize Cessna 172 apps from the app store on my mobile device to learn the systems in the mean time, no huge deal. Thank you so much and have a good evening!

I’ve noticed a problem with the fuel consumption on the C172NG Digital — it seems to be significantly lower than real-world values.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I’m using version 1.3.2 on X-Plane 11, running on a MacBook Pro M1.

I recently switched to XP12 and I'm loving it so far. I got the 172 NG Analog, without using any GPS. Is there a way to get 8.33 KHz spacing on the Bendix KX 165A?I tried pulling the inner frequency knob, but I can't find away to pull that. Thanks
