Coming Soon!

After a long-wait...Major update release v5.0 is going through final testing and refining phase prior to release!

What's new?

To begin with - A whole new 3-d model, focused on the exterior model. The existing one was developed years ago (initially at 2016/2017), and suffered from various geometric inaccuracies. This was heavily and aggressively fixed in v5.0. Although some of the inaccuracies were minor...it hurt the eyes of the trained CTLS pilots who are familiar with the aircraft.

Interior 3-d - new/improved 3-d modeling - the feel inside the aircraft (especially in VR) is more 'right', again, this is noticeable mostly for real-world CTLS pilots who are familiar with the aircraft.

Another important aspect of v5.0 is a fully-overhauled flight model which falls in line with the latest X-Plane 12 version (v4.0 flight model age is roughly two-years), and the feel of v5.0 is so sweeeet 😎

v5.0 includes an additional G1000 variant, for the glass-cockpit lovers.

VSKYLABS Cockpit-Builders Heaven...and more...

Stay tuned, we're trying to push this update release ASAP!

Brake lever associated with an axle

Hi,

I think there's a problem with the brake lever when associated with an axle.

In XP, I have lbrake, rbrake, and wbrake. The default position is too high and too much to the front. My forehead is inside that horizontal beam at the ceiling and I'm too close to the instruments. If you look where the headrests are, they are much lower and further back.

I modified the VSL CTLS_vrconfig.txt, and these coordinates fit much better:

BEGIN_TELEPORT_HOTSPOT SITTING Pilot's Seat
	AABB -0.9 -0.9 -9.5 0.9 0.9 3.9
	PRESET_XYZ -0.3 0.5 0.2
	PRESET_PSI 0.0
	PRESET_THE 0.0
	PRESET_PHI 0.0
END_TELEPORT_HOTSPOT

BEGIN_TELEPORT_HOTSPOT SITTING coPilot's Seat
	AABB -0.9 -0.9 -9.5 0.9 0.9 3.9
	PRESET_XYZ 0.3 0.5 0.2
	PRESET_PSI 0.0
	PRESET_THE 0.0
	PRESET_PHI 0.0
END_TELEPORT_HOTSPOT

As you can see, I modified the Y and Z coordinates by 0.1, from "0.3 0.6 0.1" to "0.3 0.5 0.2", and that did the trick. Same for the copilot hotspot.

I wonder if tall people have the same problem in the real plane with that beam in their face 😅

Do I have to manage some config-files in the CTLS aircraft directory manually because I couldn't adjust this features in the xplane12-Joystick-tab menue.
I know the CTLS is not supposed to fly IFR unless it's classified as an ELSA, and even then, it's not supposed to fly IMC. Nonetheless, I tried an ILS landing with the autopilot, and both the Localizer and the Glide Slope worked perfectly; although I was only to able to select the Glide Slope by mapping a button on my throttle quadrant to "Autopilot Approach", since I couldn't find a button on the autopilot (or anywhere else in the cockpit) for that purpose. I selected the Localizer by pushing the autopilot's "NAV" button while the G530's "CDI" function was set to "VLOC" and its "NAV1" frequency was set to the airport's Localizer frequency, but there was no "Approach" button on the autopilot for selecting the Glide Slope.

	My question is as follows:

Was my ability to select and use "Autopilot Approach" by mapping an external button to that function actually a software bug, meaning "Autopilot Approach" is not supposed to work in the CTLS? If it is NOT a bug, where is the button on the autopilot (or elsewhere in the cockpit) for selecting "Autopilot Approach" without having to map an external button to that function?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can solve this mystery for me!

Great project, love the results so far.

There is one thing I cannot figure out though. Which is how to adjust the Alt-bug to set the altitude for the AP to hold. If I am not mistaken, in real life the top knob on the HS-34 should be pushable to switch between different settings you can adjust with it, but that does not seem to be implemented (yet). Is there a way to move the Alt-bug?

	Hi,

I bought the CTLS and am really enjoying flying it. Like all your models, it's a nice immersive little plane with great performance.

However, I was very disappointed when firing up the engine. The model has no start up sound simulated at all. When you hit the starter it literally just goes to an immediate running (idle) sound, with no delay or start up motor simulation. This is somewhat spoiling the realism and immersion on an otherwise great all rounder.

	Could this be improved?

	Thanks.

	Hi,

I just bought this addon, but I have been unable to use it so far.

With both OpenGL and Vulkan renderers, X-Plane crashes just as the loading screen exits and I get a cockpit view. The simulator is completely frozen, I can't even get to the menu and I need to kill the program using the task manager.

I tried starting a flight with both engine running and engine cold, but I still get a crash. I do have the experimental flight model enabled.

Issue does not come from my copy of X-Plane, as I can fly all stock aircrafts + the few extra I have bought.

Has this model been tested on recent X-Plane versions ?

Hello, I'm not a pilot but I love X-plane and this CTLS, it's all I use at the moment. I use it in VR and flying this thing around in VR is about the best thing ever. It's very impressive and I love the look and feel of what I can only imagine is a really good recreation of this plane. Trying to get good FPS in VR is always a struggle, and I was shocked when I put my face directly in the reflection up close to discover it was actually rendering accurate left eye and right eye reflections off the control panel. Up until that point I wouldn't have known if it was being rendered as a true reflection or just a generic texture, It doesn't seem to hurt performance at all compared to other planes, is this a built in X-plane functionality you are utilizing? If this is just something you added to this plane it's brilliant but I'd like to test my fps with it disabled if possible. Is there any way to do that? Thanks
