This morning, after my less than successful experience with the installed AVS system in the B777 v2.5.4, I was curious to see if my old (2017) AVS plugin possibly worked. I have been unable to use this terrific plugin for years due to faults of various sorts which Flightfactor never seemed to fix. But... to my amazement today when I loaded the A320 for a flight from KSAT to KPHX, there was AVS and everything worked! It plotted a nice taxiway to my departure runway and, after some kerfuffles with the app's windows, I was able to assign KPHX as my destination and plot a route from runway 8 to gate A25. TERRIFIC! Now to see if this success works with all my aircraft. —Steve H

I have bought the AVS and installed in to X Plane 12 , and it is not working , i t shows when i start the X Plane 12 and when i minimize it will disappear from the screen and never will open again.

Any ideas what may be wrong

Running X-plane-12.2.1-r1, and 12.3.0-b2

AVS v 2.1.0.

Tried a few different planes. If I'm at RJBB, and start AVS, all panel instruments go blank, and x-checklist crashes.

The only way to recover, I have to stop AVS from the plugin menu, and restart x-plane.

I've tried both xplane versions noted above. I don't know how far this issue goes back, as I don't fly to RJBB very often

This only happens at RJBB. Other than this issue, the airport appears fine.

AVS works fine at all other airports that I've flown.

This appears to be some kind of conflict between RJBB and AVS, not sure where the problem lies, but I'm assuming with the airport.

any ideas?

Finally AVS is XP12 compatible. Here is a list of changes and additions:


- Added full support for X-Plane 12
- Added native plugin versions for Apple Silicon M1/M2 Macs
- Added sign/notarization for macOS plugin version
- Added 3rd graphics mode (Boeing AMM style)
- Added adjustable transparent overlay mode for AVS window
- Added ability to search airports by IATA codes
- Fixed some nothern airports not rendered correctly
- Fixed runway center markings displaying depending on aircraft position
- Changed supported airport map sizes up to 4K

AVS causes X-Plane 12 to freeze and shut down in Windows 12.

Hello,

I have a problem with AVS:

I recently installed Windows 11 on a new gaming laptop, along with X-Plane 12 beta 12.4.0-b4-64 and AVS.

When I select a map in AVS in Navigraph, X-Plane 12 crashes and stops working.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

When loading AVS all screens in toliss a346 goes blank , looks like everything else works, must reload xp to correct fault

Have checked with xplane they dont find anything out of order in the log, Runing xp12-latest beta....12.4.0-b4

I installed all my plugins on a new rig, but for AVS my key looks like "invalid or activations count is exceeded". When I try to open a ticket for AVS on Flight Factor Helpdesk I get the msg "Value does not match required pattern" ??

AVS not accepting my Serial Number

I just got a new Mac Studio computer and used Time Machine to install from the old computer. I have had to re-enter many serial numbers for a lot of software, I did get a notification about some bad files in the backup.

The Activation Error says Invalid key or Activations count is exceeded. I went to the plugins admin, unchecked the AVS box and the Activation Window went away. So I trashed the AVS Plugin Folder, downloaded and reinstalled a new one. NO JOY.

I copied the key directly off the x-plane.org store sales form. I don't know about exceeding anything, I did not share it. However, the box keeps popping up with an empty blank spot where the number goes.

Just bought and loving it. I have seen some videos where the windsock was slightly larger and a traditional red and white colour (easier to see). Is there any way to revert to this earlier windsock? Thanks in advance.

Am considering buying but the store page https://store.x-plane.org/Airport-Visual-System-AVS_p_716.html shows ver 2.01 June 14th 2020, however the forum states that version 2,1 dated August 5th 2023 is the latest.

If I purchase from the store page, will I be getting the latest version? The store page also says for XP 11 only, bit I am using XP12.

For those who do not see the airports structure in AVS with X-Plane 12:

The file "apt.dat" is no longer in the "Custom Scenery", but in the "Global Scenery". As a result AVS (for XP 11) can no longer find this "apt.dat" file and the airport structure.
With XP11, there was a default "apt.dat" file in the "Resources" of XP11. This default "apt.dat" file no longer exists in X-Plane 12 and AVS can no longer find this default file in X-Plane 12.

To find again the airports structure in AVS with X-Plane 12, you can recreate in XP12 an access to this default file in the "Resources" of X-Plane 12:
1 - In the directory "\X-Plane 12\Resources\default scenery\" you create the complementary tree structure to obtain "\X-Plane 12\Resources\default scenery\default apt dat\Earth nav data\"
2 - In the final directory "Earth nav data", you copy (don't move) the file "apt.dat" found in "\X-Plane 12\Global Scenery\Global Airports\Earth nav data\apt.dat"

So you get the path and file that can be exploited by AVS: "\X-Plane 12\Resources\default scenery\default apt dat\Earth nav data\apt.dat"

Now AVS shows all the airports structure in X-Plane 12 🙂

I installed EHAM from Orbx and since then I get no Taxiways or Aircraft position at this Airport. Any solution?

Runway labels reversed?

When I bring up any airport in the AVS window, the moving labels appear to be reversed. For example if an airport has Runway 26/8 or 26/08, the 26 end is labeled 8 (or 08) and vice versa. Am I the only one seeing this, or am I doing something wrong? I've attached 2 pics from EDDP Liepzig to illustrate:

AVS - problem typing airport ICAO when it contains letters A,W,S,D,X

Trying to use AWS with the Hotstart CL650 and whenever I try to type the ICAO for my arrival airport (doesn’t populate automatically), if it contains any of the movement keys for walking around (AWSDX) the screen moves and the character does not appear in the box.

Anyone know of a workaround? If the arrival ICAO populated automatically I also wouldn’t have a problem but no idea how to make this happen. Thanks.

at the Navigraph log in page, i am unable to enter my e-mail because of Keyboadrs issue,
i can't enter "." necessary in xxx@t-online.de, keyboard doesn't react whilst entering "."

Is there a key.txt file where i can enter my login password directly ?

Hello Aviation Enthusiasts! I am encountering a problem with my flight simulator when I try to open the OANS (On Board Airport Navigation System), aka AVS (Airport Visual System)

The Problem

Every time I try to open the Plugin in the flight simulator (X-Plane 12), All my screens turn black in the plane. Even my EFB is not turning on anymore, and my batteries in the overhead panel are not showing any voltage anymore.

It would be nice if anybody could help me with the problem I am dealing with.
