<p>
	Can Simvim /RSC do this ? obviously from the 737 aircraft config the switches are bound to signal to their position to Xlane and there only configurable as an input, is it possible to read a data ref using custom data refs and assign the result to an output ?

	Greetings,
</p>

<p>
	I'm just getting back in to the flight sim arena after a several year absence. Seeing the advancements over the last several years in home based sims I'm wanting to build a simulator for my work to help keep the pilots up to speed with avionics and instrument proficiency. Ultimately the goal is to have a certified simulator but I'm also aware of the challenges that go along with that.
</p>

<p>
	So a couple of questions
</p>

<p>
	 I have a spare G500(GDU-620) display and was wondering if its possible to wire it up and have it work with X-plane? Second question would it be possible to interface the display with the Real Sim Gear GTN 750/650? If so, if someone could point me in the direction as to what I might need to get it working it would be much appreciated.
</p>

<p>
	The avionics I really want to use in the sim is the Garmin G500TXi with engine monitoring, Garmin GTN 750/650, and the Garmin G5. These are in the real aircraft and would be nice to be able to practice in the sim with the same gear.
</p>

<p>
	Real Sim comes close just missing the G500Txi. Seems to me it wouldn't be that hard to develop considering all of the G1000 panels that are available.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thank you in advance.
</p>

<p>
	I'm searching for an option to add a DME to the standard Cessna 172. I need it for IFR training which I'm about to do in real life.
</p>

<p>
	I'm not experienced in customizing my own aircraft. An easy solution would be very much appreciated.

	Good morning to all,

<p style="background-color:#f8f8f8;color:#000000;font-size:14px;">
	For my homecockpit B737, I use the zibo. Concerning the equipments, I use essentially Opencockpits ( MCPV2, EFIS, NAV, COM, ATC, CDU).
</p>

<p style="background-color:#f8f8f8;color:#000000;font-size:14px;">
	All were working with SIOC before discovering the fabulous Ocusbmapper. Since the transition, the MCP is not detected by ocusbmapper
</p>

<p style="background-color:#f8f8f8;color:#000000;font-size:14px;">
	while the EFIS is detected and working ( B737x mcp_efis script in use).
</p>

<p style="background-color:#f8f8f8;color:#000000;font-size:14px;">
	My question is WHY ?
</p>

<p style="background-color:#f8f8f8;color:#000000;font-size:14px;">
	The latest versions are in place for zibo and ocusbmapper

	Hi everyone. I have an issue regarding interfacing a rotary switch and a fuel gauge.
</p>

<p>
	Specifically, the rotary switch on the real aircraft ( F-101 Voodoo) selects either total fuel or individual tank readings from #1 tank through to #5 tank.  Each selection is read from a single fuel gauge.
</p>

<p>
	I have the fuel gauge modified and operating with a stepper motor and I have the rotary switch modified from original so that it sends a ground signal out through each position much like an individual toggle switch would operate.
</p>

<p>
	I can’t see how I can get the fuel gauge to read the appropriate quantities based on the switch position.
</p>

<p>
	Any and all suggestions are welcome.

<p>
	I've built a flap switch from scratch, which uses a resistor for each of the 4 poles of the switch (820K, 2K, 4K7, 6K8) to a common analogue input on a processor running sim vim, so it's a bit like a simple potentiometer, with the 'sweep' is connected to 5V.
</p>

<p>
	All other controls work fine, but this flap switch is not working as expected. I've wired it so that the 'no flaps' position makes contact with the 820K resistor, the 10 degree position uses the 2K, 20 degree the 4K7, 30 degree the 6K8. I configured it as an analogue input, and calibrated it by beginning at 'no flaps', moving to 10, 20, 30 degree positions and then stepping back again to 'no flaps'.
</p>

<p>
	The result is pure randomness.
</p>

<p>
	Have I wired/configured this wrong? The switch itself operated fine when tested with a multimeter (ohms)... I have a vague idea I should be using a potential divider between the input pin and earth; if so, what value, and would repeating my calibration as described above be the correct way to calibrate? What have other people done to acheive this, assuming you built your own switch?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks, R

	I'm just starting a new home cockpit of a Cessna 172SP (G1000)
</p>

<p>
	Having a lot of fun since this is my first build and I've never messed with electronics before, lot to learn!
</p>

<p>
	Starting with the switch panel, I'm already having issues with a switch (Stand by battery test switch (ON-OFF-(on))
</p>

<p>
	I'm running Air manager through X-plane 11 and can't find how to program a new hardware and get the data refs for this switch on X-plane 11.
</p>

<p>
	Is it possible for my led to interact with the software as well? I know I can power the LED just with the switch but I would like it to interact with X-Plane too so the "real" LED would turn on if the game simulate a failed test? I'm I being clear? <span class="ipsEmoji">😂</span>
</p>

</p>

<p>
	Thank you very much for your help guys!

<p>
	Hello there,
</p>

<p>
	I am currently working on a Collins CTL-22 based device for my King Air Homecockpit (I want to use it for NAV, COM, ADF and as a Transponder). To make this work I need to set the choosen frequency using a dataref, let's say COM1. I am sending a dataref like this to X-Plane:
</p>

<p>
	'DREF\0&lt;value&gt;sim/cockpit/radios/com1_freq_hz\0          [spaces until 509 byte long....]'
</p>

<p>
	This works 'to some degree'. The COM1 frequency changes and the frequency becomes different as I send different values. Works also for NAV1, COM2, NAV2 and so on, but.....
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	But: I cannot figure out, what 4-byte value to send to get a specific frequency. The documentation says, the unit is 10Hz. So to get "122.800" (122 Mhz, 800 kHz) I would send the value 12280000. But if I do so, the frequency becomes "133.000". Another example: If I send 1 300 000 000, the frequency becomes "119.150". How are these values related? I cannot figure out any formula or something. As it is the same with the NAV frequencies that use a different dataref, I do not think it's a bug (except for a bug in the documentation).
</p>

<p>
	I am sending the 4-byte-value in little endian from the host X-Plane is running at.
</p>

<p>
	Where is my mistake?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The X-Plane Version is 11.11 (Steam), currently running on Windows 10.
</p>

<p>
	Thank you in advance.
</p>

<p>
	EDIT: I have found this to be a problem with all aircraft and not just with the ToLiss A319, so it must be a bug with SimVim.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I've been using SimVim to get get started on a custom EFIS panel for the ToLiss A319.
</p>

<p>
	I used the dataref tool to get a list of the datarefs and commands needed to use the EFIS panel:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	AirbusFBW/NDShowARPTCapt=0                 0 = off, 1 = on<br />
	AirbusFBW/NDShowNDBCapt=0                   0 = off, 1 = on<br />
	AirbusFBW/NDShowVORDFCapt=0              0 = off, 1 = on<br />
	AirbusFBW/NDShowWPTCapt=0                   0 = off, 1 = on<br />
	AirbusFBW/NDShowCSTRCapt=0                 0 = off, 1 = on<br />
	AirbusFBW/ILSonCapt=0                                0 = off, 1 = on<br />
	AirbusFBW/FD1Engage=0                              0 = off, 1 = on
</p>

<p>
	sim/instruments/EFIS_1_pilot_sel_dn<br />
	sim/instruments/EFIS_1_pilot_sel_up<br />
	sim/instruments/EFIS_2_pilot_sel_dn<br />
	sim/instruments/EFIS_2_pilot_sel_up
</p>

<p>
	AirbusFBW/BaroStdCapt=0                            0 = baro, 1 = Std<br />
	AirbusFBW/BaroUnitCapt=0                           0 = inhg, 1 = hpa<br />
	sim/instruments/barometer_up<br />
	sim/instruments/barometer_down
</p>

<p>
	sim/cockpit/misc/barometer_setting =             23 - 33 (in hg)<br />
	                                                                        779 - 1118 (in hpa)
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	AirbusFBW/NDrangeCapt = 0        0 - 5<br />
	AirbusFBW/NDmodeCapt = 0        0 - 4<br />

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So I started with the parameters given in the SimVim configurator and that gave me problems displaying the "sim/cockpit/misc/barometer_setting" which is a default x-plane dataref.
</p>

<p>
	Parameter in configurator: <span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;font-size:13px;text-align:left;">Baro_Ind</span>
</p>

<p>
	Dataref I want to display: sim/cockpit/misc/barometer_setting
</p>

<p>
	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;font-size:13px;text-align:left;">Using the configurator and Baro_Ind, my 7 segment display only works for values from 29.00 to 31.00 when it should display 23.00 to 33.00.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;font-size:13px;text-align:left;">Is there any way to use SimVim to display datarefs/commands by adding them to the CFG file manually? ArdSimX seems capable but I can find no documentation to do this with SimVim.</span>

	Hey, <br />

	<br />
	For Example: <br />
	<br />
	BLEED_AIR_APU -&gt; Thats the Switch to enable the Bleed Air. But, IF enabled, the blue "ON" will light up. But theres no Dataref for it! Do I need to connect it with the voltage of the Switch-Circuit? <br />

<p>
	Hi there,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I wanted to build a R22 Heli simpit for rental at a local VR arcade. When i looked into Air Manager Commercial Version it is 800 Euros (that is 1400 Canadian too much for me). So I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent alternative to display the instruments on a 2nd screen.  I am also looking at adding a few switches and pots too. Nothing terribly complicated.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Any help would be great.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks
</p>

<p>
	Ivan

	Hello XP-Friends,<br />
	<br />
	my name is Alex, i come from germany and i fly XP11 and real planes.<br />
	Im an electronic engeneer (hard- and software) and i would upgrade my XP11 with hardware build cockpit.<br />
	<br />
	So i dont understand the Serial Data from XP11.<br />
	<br />
	i get something like<br />
	$152.000,20.000,34.000,<br />
	<br />
	is there any description what that mean?<br />
	<br />
	If i click on the DataRef-Menu on the transmitting side and choise some inits, so my string becomes longer.<br />
	<br />
	Anyway, is there an example to parse the SerialData for C/C++? The code also can be from an Arduino-Project.<br />
	<br />
	Best regards<br />
	Alex

	Hello so im new to flight siming and im big it to real work cockpits, i have a Racing Simulator that not far off built but im homing to move to a bigger shed to have both racing sim and flight sim in one place, is it 1 okay to have a 16 x 8 foot shed with the pilot and co pilots seat to the 8 foot left and right, or will it not fit, im hoping to have the seat that slide out and left and so on,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	but my qeastion is where do i cant with this panel, i want to wire it all in myself as im a electical engineer, i design pcb for racing sim stuff,
</p>

<p>
	but dont know much, what products do i need for the overhead panel not the switchs just the gauges and usb pcb to connect it all, im a novice really, there an ethernet way ?
</p>

<p>
	but i just need help with all this

	Hello everyone...i have no idea how to search for this so if it has been discussed please, i am so sorry!  I have an independant external on one pc in ipv6 and a master on another pc networked in XP which are working great.  BUT if i try to move the gear handle on the external it wont budge...i have to hit the g key on the master.  Or change from the out the window view back to the MIP and mouse the gear up.  Do all things like changing radios, flaps gear etc have to be on the master? Its not duplex data transfer??? Kinda defeats the purpose doesnt of an external panel(???) Thank you so much.

<p>
	Hello everyone, I'll be brief in explaining my problem.
</p>

<p>
	I'm using Ardsim Plugin and Arduino Mega to connect encoders to control a radio panel.
</p>

<p>
	The problem is that for each side that I turn on the encoder, it changes de frequency just one side (only increments).
</p>

<p>
	The encoder that I'm using it's KY-40.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks for helping me.

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	Apologises if I have posted this topic into incorrect section. New to the forum!
</p>

<p>
	I've begun getting my hands dirty designing generics over the past week with the goal of having more control over the behaviour the inbuilt xplane HUD. My progress has gone pretty well so far having created the HSI, and the altitude and IAS tapes / digits.
</p>

<p>
	However, my final task was to create the bank and slip elements  that sit at the top of the HUD display. The bank indicator part of this was straight forward; create a generic pointer and link the dataref "sim/cockpit2/gauges/indicators/roll_AHARS_deg_pilot" to the pointer's rotational input. Problems arise when creating the slip indicator as it's appears to require two dataref's to behave correctly:
</p>

<p>
	1) it needs to be aligned with the bank indicator it sits under. This I assume would be accomplished by using another generic pointer and the same dataref ("sim/cockpit2/gauges/indicators/roll_AHARS_deg_pilot").
</p>

<p>
	2) at the same time it needs to depict the amount of aircraft slip using the dataref "sim/cockpit2/gauges/indicators/slip_deg". My understanding is that this should be done with a generic needle with horizontal displacement.
</p>

<p>
	I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall try to produce the above two behaviours with a single instrument. I would be extremely appreciative if someone can offer a solution to this problem, or if someone can advise whether this is actually feasible or not. As a further note I'm currently working in Xplane 9.70.
</p>

<p>
	Kind regards,
</p>

<p>
	James

<p>
	Guys, I cannot figure this out. I have tried many permutations and I cannot get it right. Here is my setup.
</p>

<p>
	I have a rotary encoder connected to Arduino and interfaced to xplane via ArdsimX. Now, most of my rotary encoders use commands however there are two instruments that I need to modify dataref value by turning the rotary encoder left or right.
</p>

<p>
	Here it is.
</p>

<p>
	172/instruments/kias_tas_slip ---&gt; The value goes from 0 to 100 and when I turn the knob in the simulator the value goes up and down by 0.25 increments.
</p>

<p>
	172/instruments/AH_pointer ---&gt; The value goes from -1 to +1 and when I turn the knob in the simulator the value goes up and down by 0.01 increments.
</p>

<p>
	I have tried many ways of coding and I cannot get the above behavior map to the rotary encoder. Here is what I have not which does not work.
</p>

<pre class="ipsCode prettyprint lang-html prettyprinted">
<span class="pln">@ ================= INFO =================

E15+ 172/instruments/AH_pointer 0.05+,0 1 1 -1 1</span></pre>

<p>
	Can you please tell me how do I need to configure the dataref settings above to get the behavior I want?
</p>
