<p>
	Hello fellow flight simmers:
</p>

<p>
	I am very pleased and excited to announce that I will be the new lead developer on the Hawker 4000 XP11 payware aircraft project.<span>  </span>As an early customer of this product, I always saw a lot of potential in this business jet and have had loads of fun taking it through its paces. <span> </span>As I became more familiar with this aircraft and did some research on it, I identified areas where this project could be modified to be make it look closer to the real aircraft it’s based on and provide for a more immersive experience.<span>  </span>Over time, I made some modifications on my copy of the plane to test some changes to the avionics and flight model and was encouraged by the early results.<span>  </span>After discussing with Rob Wilson, we’ve come to an agreement to allow me to assume future development of this project.
</p>

<p>
	Over the next few weeks, I will be working on the next big update to the Hawker.<span>  </span>This will be a free update to current owners. <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="https://forums.x-plane.org/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" srcset="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20" data-src="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/emoticons/default_smile.png"><span>  </span>I’m hoping to release an update this summer.<span>  </span>The planned changes include:
</p>

<ul>
<li>
		Fully revamped avionics screens, which the biggest changes occurring in the PFD.<span>  </span>Most noticeable will be the flight director cue options, the HSI with new CDI and bearing arrows, com and nav frequencies displayed at the bottom, etc.<span>  </span>New rolling digits for speed an altitude.<span>  </span>Vspeed pointers adjacent to speed tape.<span>  </span>Radar ground indication on altitude tape.<span>  </span>Speed and altitude trend lines.<span>  </span>New vertical and lateral deflection scales for precision approaches.<span>  </span>Side-slip indicator.<span>  </span>FPA (flight path angle) indicator.
	</li>
	<li>
		New icons and decluttering levels for the MFD (major and minor airports, and navaids all declutter at certain zoom levels).<span>  </span>“WPT Ident” menu option will now show flight plan waypoints and not all nav fixes on the map (and will be turned on by default).<span>  </span>Current leg and next waypoint will be in magenta color.<span>  </span>Direct-To executions will now be reflected on the MFD (currently, the original flight plan path still displays even though the X-Plane fms flight path and autopilot will correctly follow the new leg after a Direct-To execution).
	</li>
	<li>
		Some small changes to EICAS symbols and text.
	</li>
	<li>
		New fonts for avionics displays.
	</li>
	<li>
		Display aspect ratio will be narrowed to more closely match actual display aspect ratios (from photos and manuals).<span>  </span>Display output will initially show up with wide side margins until the 3D cockpit model is modified to match.
	</li>
	<li>
		Pop-up panel display settings (size/location) will be saved between aircraft loads.<span>  </span>Thanks to TimRodeo’s suggestions.
	</li>
	<li>
		Support for display reversion (swapping PFD/MFD/EICAS screens around)
	</li>
	<li>
		New flight model with custom airfoils (using the new .afl format supporting multiple Reynolds numbers), with the main wings using a transonic airfoil.<span>  </span><span> </span><span> </span>(Thanks to Alan Shafto, aka AeroSimGaming, for his help and livestream demonstrations).<span>  </span>Control deflection limits and phaseouts tuned.<span>  </span>Roll spoilers implemented to assist ailerons.
	</li>
	<li>
		Engines tuned to match typical climb times (as documented in magazine articles), as well as matched fuel burn rates.
	</li>
	<li>
		Reworked autopilot and guidance panel buttons behavior, including automatically armed altitude (ALT button now acts as Altitude Hold instead of Altitude Arm).<span>  </span>Lateral and vertical nav mode buttons can now be armed/captured on the flight director guidance without automatically engaging the autopilot too.
	</li>
	<li>
		Nose wheel steering slowed/smoothed to avoid tire screeching and for better controllability.<span>  </span>Tuned landing gear deflections and damping (less lean in the turns and sits closer to the ground)
	</li>
	<li>
		New manipulators for knobs (including support for mouse wheel!), altitude knob increment value adjusted.
	</li>
	<li>
		Custom autothrottle system with N1 limits for phase of flight (including TO arming for takeoff which engages after 60% N1 is applied).
	</li>
	<li>
		Map range zoom in/out custom commands (feature requested by SkyAce in the forum)
	</li>
	<li>
		Set ICAO code in the .acf file to “HA4T”, which is necessary to fly on online networks like PilotEdge.
	</li>
	<li>
		TCAS support for multi-player dataref variables (which services like PilotEdge write the nearest online targets to).
	</li>
	<li>
		PFD tuned COM frequency:<span>  </span>change active frequency red when transmitting, display “(PE)” after frequency when connected to the PilotEdge network.<span>  </span>Not necessarily real behavior but is offered as a convenient way to verify connected and transmit status on the PilotEdge network.
	</li>
	<li>
		Tekton FMS:<span>  </span>Steve Wilson has made some significant VNAV functionality updates for VNAV profiles, with default automatic vertical profiles as well as user definable vertical descent rates.
	</li>
</ul>
<p>
	Most, if not all, of these updates will probably rolled into a “v1.3” update, with further tweaks, feature additions, and bug fixes to continue on future updates.<span>  </span>A lot of these I have already implemented on my side in some form or another.<span>  </span>Most of the avionics changes has already been done, but the code was organized as a personal mod slapped in the Lua code that I’ve played with over the past year, so there is some re-organizing and cleaning up I need to do to get it into a “distributable” state.<span>  </span>A lot flight model and Plane Maker settings are pretty much done.<span>  </span>The new autothrottle system may or may not make it into 1.3.<span>  </span>I will also go through the various forum posts from the past and find other bugs and features requests to consider incorporating in the next update.<span>  </span>If you have any ideas or issues to report that haven’t already been addressed above, feel free to respond in this thread.
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:11pt;">I hope you are all as excited as I am about the future of this aircraft, and I look forward to making this one of the best business jets for X-Plane.<span>  </span>Many thanks for Rob Wilson for building this model and providing a great platform for me to develop upon, and to Steve Wilson for his FMS system as well as being very active, responsive and helpful contributor to this forum and assisting the users so well.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:11pt;">Stay tuned for more news and updates.</span>

	Initially, I could move left/right with the arrow keys, and down but not up.  I tried shift and arrow keys and could then move in all four directions.  Until it stopped working. The only change was I accessed the EFB and opened it.  I tried to Request GPU but it wasn't enabled.  Then the view scroll would not work at all.  I had the same reported problem with the switch manipulators where I could turn off and on the left Boost pump but when I turned off the right one, I could not turn it back on again.  Then the whole thing just froze up.  I reinstalled aircraft and art from developer menu and it started working again, but all the same problems cropped up until it finally seemed to freeze up entirely.  I was still getting frame rate reports via Xplane showing the simulation itself was still alive and well (XPlane did not freeze up).  Here is a log

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	I haven't yet purchased the plane, this isn't the reason why, and I was wondering if there is a set of checklists or a document for each procedure e.g. startup, T/O, landing and shutdown or if there is a way to acquire them. It would be extremely handy to have these checklists, if they don't already exist, as I am very inexperienced and tend to forget sometimes crucial steps even on aircraft I regularly fly.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance.

	I'm wondering if the Hawker 4000 works with XP11.50 (release version)? I'm having a number of issues with the plane running on XP11.50 (Windows 10).  When I start the tutorial, for example, I get as far as 'start the APU'.  I hear it slowly spin up, but none of the lights on the overhead ever come on.

	I have a multi-PC setup with networked external visuals running X-Plane 11.50. I'm unable to keep the 3D cockpit from displaying on the 'slave' PCs, despite the fact that I have the default view set to 'Forward with scenery'.  I don't want the 3D cockpit displayed on the PCs showing independent external visuals, but I cannot get rid of it.  This happens on several (but not all) payware airplanes, including the Hawker 4000.  So far I've not been able to get a single response on any forum about this issue, no matter how I phrase the issue.  Curiously, if I use PlaneMaker to disable all visuals and save the .acf file on the slave PCs, it works for a few seconds after everything loads, but then the 3D cockpit suddenly reappears on all of the slave PCs.
</p>

<p>
	Does anybody have any suggestions at all?  Is this an issue with the plane or with XPlane 11?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance for ANY kind of suggestions  <span><span class="ipsEmoji">🙂</span></span>

	Hi,<br />
	<br />
	I just purchased the Hawker 4000 and tried to do my first flight on X-Plane 11 (11.50)  by following the Flight Tutorial. But I had the following problems:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		when programming the FMC, on page 3 of the tutorial it says: "Go to the <strong>progress page </strong>and enter a cruising altitude and a speed ..."<br />
		I did not find the '<strong>progress page</strong>', Where is it, how do I get there?<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		after starting the engines, on page 4 of the tutorial it says: "Turn on the L/R GEN and the <strong>STBY BATT</strong>.<br />
		I found the generator buttons in the overhead panel, but I did not find the button for the <strong>STBY BATT</strong>. Where is it?<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		on the same page it says: " While taxiing, lower your flaps ... and make sure the <strong>auto-brake</strong> is on."<br />
		I did not find the <strong>auto-brake</strong>. I think <strong>auto-brake</strong> is the same as the RTO switch in airliners, right? But How do I activate it?
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	Last but not least, the autopilot did not follow the FMS. I was able to fly the plane in HDG-, VS- and ALT mode, but neither lateral- nor vertical nav mode did work. Maybe I missed pressing one of the buttons to activate the autopilot correctly. I will check that again. However, I would appreciate if someone could answer the questions above?<br />
	<br />
	Thanks in advance.

<p>
	Hello Gang!
</p>

<p>
	Very happy with my Hawker in XPlane11 but I would like to report some issues I noticed:
</p>

<p>
	1. The blinking approach lights don't blink even though they are turned on.
</p>

<p>
	2. When reverse thrust is applied there is a plume of dark smoke being funneled forwards very unrealistically.  Same when the aircraft is on the ground it sporadically throws this plume of dark smoke that is uncharacteristic of this aircraft.
</p>

<p>
	3. The "Y" hide yoke function does not work.  Any way to hide the yoke?
</p>

<p>
	4. That horrible skidding sound every time you want to turn......how can we turn it off??
</p>

<p>
	5. Once altitude is achieved, FLCH goes off and speed is no longer maintained.  Maybe this is a procedural thing on my end (user error), but how do you make the A/P maintain the dialed speed once altitude is achieved?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks a million.
</p>

<p>
	Dennis

	So I just updated to the latest 11.36r2 and now the background for the Hawker 4000 HSI and nav map are gray (rather than black) and kind of blurry, almost like they are reverse gray scale vs color and pixelated.  See pics.

<p>
	What I did to try and correct with no resolution:
</p>

<p>
	- Reloaded aircraft.
</p>

<p>
	- Restarted x-plane
</p>

<p>
	- Started with a new a “clean” situation.
</p>

<p>
	- Re-ran xplane installer
</p>

<p>
	- Updated the NVIDIA driver
</p>

<p>
	If I run my my copy of 11.32r2 it looks correct.
</p>

<p>
	Attached is the log running under 11.36r.
</p>

<p>
	Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

	Is there any way to get NAV1 audio on the 4000 so I know when the ILS localiser is being picked up? I saw the radio panel to the left of the cockpit but can only select audio between COM1 and COM2. Any help much appreciated. Cheers.

	I’ll be honest I don’t know much of how to map/bind aircraft functions to hardware like joystick buttons, etc but it doesn’t seem that many of the Hawker 4000 overhead functions (APU, bleed air, etc) can be directly mapped using the standard Xplane configuration window for joysticks, keyboard, and other hardware.  I can map most of the lights and autopilot functions, but I’m guessing the rest are custom commands that can’t be directly accessed with a button?  Or, is there a way to do this this that I’m just not aware of (very likely?) Thanks
