	Well... it's been 3 years since I've acquired a retired DC-8 Freighter pilot's 60 pound box of manuals and binders. To this day they still sit in a corner of my closet waiting to be used with what was the best DC-8 out there at the time, the Wilson Aircraft DC-8. It hurts to watch 5 year old youtube videos on the plane and not being able to buy it. I read the about us section of the org store and it seems that people may have a copy of the plane left but are not able to download it again as it gone. Does this mean that since the org store doesn't have it I can obtain a copy or perhaps purchase a license from someone who does? Is there a legal way to obtain a copy or license?
</p>

<p>
	Take this with a grain of salt, always just an idea not proposing anything. Kind of looking for constructive feedback.

	Hi.

<p>
	I've found that the DC-8 works OK with XP 11.50 aside from the FMC, the exhaust smoke and the rather curious neon glow around the engines!  Has anyone else encountered these and if so, did you find a way to sort them out?
</p>

	To the developer, what a wonderful a/c to fly in VR <span class="ipsEmoji">🙂</span> I am having a blast from the past. I was lucky to travel in DC8's in South America and in the Netherlands in the 60's &amp; 70's.
</p>

<p>
	A stupid question: Is there a way to change how we tune/dial in heading frequencies and so forth in VR.
</p>

<p>
	I would love to be able to use the mouse scroll wheel rather than left click hold mouse and drag.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone ever thought of having 2d panels pop-up in VR, this would be great.

<p>
	Any suggestions welcome.

<p>
	Hi all,

<p>
	I have a question about the textures files:
</p>

<ul style="color:#000000;">
<li>
		<span>Two choices of textures for the cockpit are provided, low definition &amp; high definition, depending on your graphic card abilities.</span>
	</li>
</ul>
<p>
	How do I install the <span>high definition textures for the cockpit? I can not find them.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>I have texture problems on the fuselage on the the RH fwd fuselage side, along the RH fuselage side and on the aft fuselage in front of the vertical tail.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>See screenshots. (black area's.) All repaints have this problem.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>Only visable with HDR on and not on the LH fuselage side. Is this caused by the internal flightengineers panel?</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Request for the next update: Improve cockpit lighting and make some cockpit clickspots bigger like the AP ones.
</p>

<p>

<p>
	Hey everyone,<br />
	I recently purchased the entire Wilson aircraft collection and I'm really enjoying the old jetliners so far. I do seem to be having a few issues with the DC-8 though. The most simple one is that the Exhaust temp gauges on all variants simply spike to max as soon as the engines start and don't respond to any throttle movements after that.
</p>

<p>
	The issue I have more concern with is with the DME. It seems that if I'm 40+ miles away from a station, it reads correctly for the most part. As I approach within 30 miles or so, things start to get odd. The DME jumps to 10 or less miles, and will soon count down to zero and stay there once within 20 miles or so. I have to imagine this isn't correct operation. The only troubleshooting I've done thus far is to empty my plugins folder to see if I was having any compatibility issues with plugins, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Has anybody else run into these issues?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks.
</p>

	Hey guys, I was wondering if there was a way to move the speed bugs on the DC-8 to set V-speeds and bug other speeds. They are moveable but move extremely slow and are not precise enough to set speeds.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks so much
</p>

<p>
	Also, I believe there is a bug with how the thrust reverers move when activating reverse since they are supposed to just flip up rather than moving the whole throttle forward

<p>
	Hey there! I just wanted to ask if you guys might know what's up; On the DC-8 specifically, the camera seems to be way further out than normal. That also means I can't bring it in very close at all, and it doesn't really look that great. It's gotta be something odd, because the vids and screens can all close-up just dandy. It's likely part of some incompatibility with .20vr1, as I think I've noticed odd camera quirks with a few other select aircraft.
</p>

<p>
	Here's a screenshot to help explain it a bit better, fresh outta the Shift+4 view, the second one is as close as I can bring the camera<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2018_01/DC-8-71F_1.jpg.2f8411d2e28142a13d0fe023a2b92a14.jpg" data-fileid="309810" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="309810" src="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2018_01/DC-8-71F_1.thumb.jpg.26bc060f6d116a172a7227754ae053e0.jpg" alt="DC-8-71F_1.thumb.jpg.26bc060f6d116a172a7227754ae053e0.jpg" data-ratio="56.25" loading="lazy"></a><a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2018_01/DC-8-71F_2.jpg.02e6f66d75ed69b5602fb2ee8552bdf4.jpg" data-fileid="309811" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="309811" src="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2018_01/DC-8-71F_2.thumb.jpg.7e70de3fd57461c6e190b58990450b7c.jpg" alt="DC-8-71F_2.thumb.jpg.7e70de3fd57461c6e190b58990450b7c.jpg" data-ratio="56.25" loading="lazy"></a>

<p>
	Hi, i was wondering if there are other paint kits for other models (e.g. DC-8-71)
</p>

<p>
	I know there is one for the -61 in the manual.
</p>

<p>
	But i want to paint the other models too.

<p>
	I bought this plane today, and while utilising the X-Plane 11 FMS in the -71, neither the Flight Director nor any of the Autopilot functions seem to work.
</p>

<p>
	Also, the AP buttons seem incredibly difficult to press/push due to what seems like a tiny definiton of the click-point. The buttons and knobs are all very difficult to interact with.

<p>
	Hello everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I have these strange looking shadows in the cockpit in the XP11 version. It looks like the cockpit itself is dropping now shadows, but the gauges on the flight engineers panel do.
</p>

<p>
	It's a little bit disturbing, because it is so weird <img alt=":lol:" data-emoticon="" src="https://forums.x-plane.org/uploads/emoticons/default_laugh.png" title=":lol:" loading="lazy"><br>
	Is there any bugfix for this?
</p>

<p>
	Greetings,<br>
	Tobi

<p>
	Comparing the CFM variants of the DC-8 with some real world pictures, I get the impression that the engines should be positioned higher (about 2 feet or so).

	This is what i looks like in the sim: <img alt="5039mpjpd.jpg" class="ipsImage" height="530" src="https://abload.de/img/5039mpjpd.jpg" width="1000" loading="lazy"></p>

<p>
	Hello !
</p>

<p>
	I fly the DC8-71F with XP11.11 on a Mac (Mac OS 10.13.2) but I have a problem with the engine noise in the cockpit (and in the headset !) especially when climbing and at CRZ level. Even when I disable all sounds via the XP11 sound settings, I still hear the engines at full volume !! Quite annoying, I must say, because I cannot hear the instructions of the ATCs when I fly on line (which I do most of the time !).
</p>

<p>
	Suggestions, anyone ?
</p>

<p>
	Many thanks in advance for your help !!
</p>

<p>
	Eric
