	Goodmorning to everyne,
</p>

<p>
	      just a couple of mounts ago I made the acquaintance of the gorgeous SMS DHC 2 Beaver, and that was love at first sight.
</p>

<p>
	I am running it into X-Plane 11 and everything is going well. I know that previous version were made initially for X-plane 10 if I am not wrong. Now my question is: Where can I find a version for X-plane 10 ? Since I have X-plane 10 installed in a less performing pc, I would like to have this marvelous jewel in my collection of vintage aircrafts. Everytime I try to load the last version into X-plane 10, it return a message that the file is corrupted or it is not for x-plane 10. I attach one pic of this message, but it occures even if I try to load the other version of the aircraft. Is there anybody that could help me?  Many thanks in advance

	This is a fantastic plane. I tried to implement librain for it, but it exhibits strange behavior when I load the glass objects. Instead of a transparent surface with rain rendered on it, I get a weird mirror-like surface. This also happens with the Stinson L5 which comes with X-plane. I have no issues implementing it for all of the other default planes in X-plane and a couple of community-made planes.
</p>

<p>
	Is there some kind of protection built into this plane that would interfere with librain? I've tried removing the plugins that come with it, buit that didn't affect anything. I would love to do librain for it.

<p>Hi guys,</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In this thread I would like to share future liveries, either created by SoulMade Simulations or by you. So if you have created a livery, please share it in this thread.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I know a few of you are waiting for that white empty livery and it is coming soon.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The first livery I want to share is from Clipper Aviation "D-FLEN". It will be included in the next update package as well, as two more. <img src="http://forums.x-plane.org//public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png" title=":)" alt="smile.png" loading="lazy"></p>
<p> </p>
<p><a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=23517&amp;p=932095">In order to avoid double posting, you can check it out D-FLEN here.</a></p>

	For those of you experiencing strange (and generally catastrophic) handling characteristics with relatively recent downloads of the DHC-2, I have a fix.  It's not you, it's the geometry of the aircraft.  At least according to SMS.  I never experienced the issue until the other day when I accidentally broke my copy of the "Immortal Beaver" project and redownloaded a fresh copy from the .org store.  First flight in the 'new' bird - hard right roll when introducing flaps at any speed.  So I started poking around in Plane Maker.  Here's what I found:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2020_03/959071103_Screenshot(3).jpg.7b66240f6621b1bfb8129d8b074a9cdf.jpg" data-fileid="488918" data-fileext="jpg" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="488918" data-ratio="75.00" width="1000" alt="514242604_Screenshot(3).thumb.jpg.5252b5ad37d8c08b8791dae23069ba77.jpg" data-src="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2020_03/514242604_Screenshot(3).thumb.jpg.5252b5ad37d8c08b8791dae23069ba77.jpg" src="https://forums.x-plane.org/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	From your .acf file, go to STANDARD, then CONTROL GEOMETRY.  As you can see in the red area, flap 1 and flap 2 are not only of differing types, but their coefficients of lift, drag, and mass are drastically different.  Which means when you deploy flaps, even when well below the white arc, you gonna crash...
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2020_03/1130639757_Screenshot(4).jpg.9dd700d9eb7c88f3ca4790be3171945f.jpg" data-fileid="488920" data-fileext="jpg" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="488920" data-ratio="74.70" width="1000" alt="1775912627_Screenshot(4).thumb.jpg.78d36c6c2f1350b9bead3d492bbb5ac1.jpg" data-src="//media.invisioncic.com/c334187/monthly_2020_03/1775912627_Screenshot(4).thumb.jpg.78d36c6c2f1350b9bead3d492bbb5ac1.jpg" src="https://forums.x-plane.org/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	When you change the values to the same values (whether or not they're correct), the aircraft handle much better.
</p>

<p>
	I did some pattern work this afternoon at KLIT rwy 22r, and even with a bit of a crosswind, the aircraft is very docile on approach.  80mph final, 65 over the numbers at full flap, and chop the throttle for a nice(ish) three-pointer.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Hope this helps.

			P.S. addendum: I seem to have engine sound files in two places. Under the "sounds" subfolder in my SMS DHC2 Beaver folder are sound files that, played alone, include the grinding sound of a starter not engaging. Under the plugins folder are additional sound files (plugins &gt; dreamengine &gt; sounds) that played alone sound like what I want to hear when the engine is running. I therefore think I have everything, but perhaps I need to shuffle these files about or otherwise reorganize my folder structure?

	A few days ago I bought the SMS DHC-2. I'm using Windows 10 64 bit and X-Plane 11.55. When I try to load a Flight with the DHC-2 selected, X-Plane closes itself while loading the aircraft, and I'm back on the Windows Desktop.

<p>
	The critical (last) line in X-Plane Logfile is:
</p>

<p>
	DreamEngine: 2.0 build 0316 --=={This application has crashed because of the plugin: dreamengine/win.xpl}==--
</p>

<p>
	(where dreamengine is indeed a plugin in the DHC-2 folder)
</p>

<p>
	I googled for an hour trying to find a solution, without success. X-Plane runs well with other aircraft, the problem only occurs with the Beaver.
</p>

<p>
	I also tried disabling Vulcan, results are the same
</p>

<p>
	Anyone have any idea please?<br />

	I HOPE SoulMadeSim is reading this forum....
</p>

<p>
	You know I have had this plane for a long time....and I hardly ever fly it because it never starts.  I actually disabled the code in the last version just so I could fly it.  I know that's stupid..but so is a simulator plane that won't start.  You can't use the "start engines" menu command.  You can't even start on approach because the motor conks out because it didn't go through the official SMS startup procedure.  And if you are not successful with a startup it won't let me try again...I actually have to reload a different plane then reload this one to reset it.  Also, my saitek switches don't work and I have to use the mouse for everything.  I'm sorry...but this is a GAME...and if you can't START THE PLANE TO FLY IT then we wasted our money.  I had hoped they had improved some of this in this version but apparently not.
</p>

<p>
	Now I'm sure that there are those who have the startup down...but this is not a simple follow the checklist issue.  I have followed it but it won't start... and I have wasted an hour trying and trying.  OBVIOUSLY I missed something... didn't coun't enough blades or didn't pump the stupid choke enough times, or God help me, actually turned the magnetos on first BEFORE hitting the starter (like on the 40 other planes I have...yea yea..old radial engine).
</p>

<p>
	SO... thanks for letting me rant.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been frustrated by what is an amazing plane.  However, SMS... if you are listening.... you need a simple start option or at least honor the XP "start the plane" menu option, and also deal with approach starts as well, and not penalize people who want to fly this lovely plane you sold us but don't want to play "twister" to try to get it running.
</p>

<p>
	Thank you, and have a nice day.
</p>

	Nice to see the Beaver update - like a visit from an old friend!  However I'm struggling to believe the flap behaviour, especially the transition from Climb/Cruise to Flaps Up where the lift disappears like a switch as the flaps transit - seems unbelievable to have such a huge change from such a low flap deflection. Also the documentation calls for 30"/2000 rpm after takeoff, then 80mph and flaps from takeoff to climb. Well 80mph, flaps takeoff at lighter weights gives a very noticeable nose down attitude. I know the Beaver has effective flaps, but it almost seems like magic flaps at the moment.
</p>

<p>
	Also, I fly with a headset and the directional sound from the engine is really, really overdone - looking left I have no engine sound in the left ear at all. Hope this can be added to the list of fixes for the next version.

	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	I am reading that some of you have issues controlling the SMS Beaver via your Hardware or Keyboard commands and also some of you don't like to use the mouse in the cockpit,
</p>

<p>
	Due to your comments, I will create commands for SMS Beaver cockpit and I hope this is something most of you will like.
</p>

<p>
	I guess that some of you have issues, because you use hardware switches or keyboard commands and expect the SMS Beaver to react in a certain way. Well, most of the systems have nothing to do with standard X-Plane behaviour and I did that on purpose. Also, there might be conflicts between the HW switches you use and the things you control via the mouse in the virtual cockpit. I don't really have this issue, but as it looks like, some of you have.
</p>

<p>
	Therefore, I have to implement a solution. However, I am not going to support the "Start Engines Running" and "Prep Electrical System for Boarding" functionality which you can find in the "Flight" menu.
</p>

<p>
	You could either start with the engines already running or use the proper cold and dark procedure. I don't get if someone would like to start cold and dark and then use "Start Engines Running" anyway. SMS will stick to a realistic startup procedure implementation.
</p>

<p>
	Edit:
</p>

<p>
	Could you please give me your most wanted commands, so that I can add them already for the next update.<br>
	I need to know what you would like to control in the SMS Beaver cockpit with the command. Do not refer to standard commands, as our Beaver is using a lot of custom things. Just tell me what you would like to be able to control. <span class="ipsEmoji">😉</span> Also it would be helpful if you tell me which commands you need.
</p>

<p>
	For example:
</p>

<p>
	<em>Water Rudder - Toggle<br>
	Water Rudder - Up<br>
	Water Rudder - Down</em>
</p>

<p>

	Rudimentary cargo pod for the Beaver.
</p>

<p>
	Works on floats, amphibian and tire, just drop the files into the main objects folder.

	I downloaded 1.3 today and am liking it a lot!
</p>

<p>
	I am sure I am making a mistake somewhere but can't get the radios (comms nor nav) to work.
</p>

<p>
	Have turned on battery, alternator, radios switches under the six-pack, and the clicked over the comm off/on//test switch to 'on', as well as the nav switch.  The transponder appears to work for me.  Am at an altitude where I should receive the stations - verified with default 172.
</p>

<p>
	Anyone have thoughts?
