Stream Deck profile (XL and Plus) for ToLiss A319, A321 1.1.6

(14 reviews)

6 Screenshots

Now that the Zibo profile has been released (you can find it here) it's time to revisit the ToLiss A3XX profile. I only own the A319, so if you'd like be to make sure the others (A320, A330neo and A340) work as well and you like my work, please donate! Thanks! 😀 (24 January 2025)

Some ideas for the new version 2.0 (left is current, right is possible future design) that will make the effect of the light more realistic. Titles will be embedded in the image, so I can make them look the way I want instead of having to use Stream Deck's fonts.

Here's the roadmap for the ToLiss profile: https://link.passengerflying.com/si8VLR

Thanks to the great work @markcellis put into the plugin, I could start with the graphics for the A3XX. I wanted to create new keys, because the ones already available are beautiful, but try to replicate too much of the original textures (like backgrounds).
The keys are explained on Passenger Flying (work in progress).

Important: Stream Deck profiles only work on version 1.5.1 (and later) of X-KeyPad. You can download it here: https://stickandrudderstudios.com/download-x-keypad/

If you have any requests or found a bug, please report them here.

Thank you for your contribution.  I just bought a Stream Deck + .  Hopefully I can setup my autopilot using your files.

Best regards and continue the good work.

Hi Datema, Once again, many thanks for the outstanding work you have put into this. Could you please explain what we do with the profiles once we have downloaded them (Where do we put them in x-pad, Stream Deck etc).

Thanks in advance

@davrob & @Torkermax: I'll see if I can add some install information in the coming days. For now a short version:

- Just double click the streamDeckProfile file and it will be added to your Stream Deck. The one with + in the filename is for the Stream Deck plus, the other one for the Stream Deck XL.

- The X-KeyPad-SD_a319 file goes to your <X-Plane>/Aircraft/Toliss A319 folder. This is the name for the high resolution ToLiss A319. If you want to use it for the standard definition, just load that aircraft and X-KeyPad will create a new file for you. That way you can also get the correct name. Overwrite that new file with my profile and rename it of course. I don't know the correct names out of my head and I'm in the train right now, so this is the solution I can give you. 😃

@Sander Datema I just wanted to say thank you so much for the work you did to pull this together. I read this post last week, went to Amazon and purchased a Stream Deck +, purchased X-Keypad and installed it all together on my Mac Mini M2 Pro running XP12 and flew the ToLiss A320N and it worked wonderfully well. I took a short flight from Lisbon to Porto to test it out and made notes of some of the changes that I wanted to make but in general your layout works really nicely. The only edits I made before takeoff were to move the position of some of the button titles which were clashing with the ON/OFF images in the background. Lovely to see that your config file already basically contained every function from the aircraft pre-mapped.

I fly mainly on VATSIM and being able to use real heading, speed and altitude knobs as well as easily tune the radios will make busy airspace vectoring so much easier. Now I have to try to do what you have done for the FF A350 which is my other main aircraft.

Also a big thank you to @markcellis for X-Keypad plus the excellent instructional video he made for it. I had previously purchased X-ATC chatter so I knew X-Keypad would be awesome as well. Stick and Rudder Studios is a mark of quality add-on software for XP.

@ezfrag Thanks so much for the nice words! I'm still working on the profile and I'll upload a new version with some fixes (e.g. the ECAM buttons didn't work). It's just on the X-KeyPad side, so it won't change your custom profile.

Yes I noticed the ECAM buttons only showed while I held the button down and then reverted to the cruise page. I thought maybe this was on purpose but it was one of the notes I made.

Since I do not have the XL, I had to add some extra pages on the SD+ to add in exterior lights and ECAM pages that you had on the XL. It makes a huge difference to the immersion when you don’t have to use a mouse as much.

@Sander Datema So I have a theory about this and a somewhat tedious way to fix it.

First, I think there is a bug in the Stream Deck software where it is not handling importing profile navigation actions. The profile navigation action needs a reference to a profile and page number on that profile. During the import process I think the Stream Deck software is completely unaware of the fact that those navigation buttons on the right of the profile are referring to the very profile you are importing. It gets completely confused and changes the reference to the default profile. To make matters worse, if your default profile does not have at least 10 pages it will then loose the page reference to any page numbers that are past the max pages on the default profile,

I'm not sure if the bug is just related to profiles that were exported on MAC and then imported on Windows or if this issue is happening between two different computers.

The way I fixed it was this:

First make sure your default profile has a minimum of 10 pages as that is what Sander's profile needs. Go ahead and import his Stream Deck XL profile. The take a look at the parameters on one of the navigation buttons. You will notice that it is referring to the default profile and not the newly imported airbus profile. Now what you need to do is on EVERY page go to each of those navigation buttons and change the profile reference from the default to the airbus profile. The pain in the neck part of this is you need to do it for all profile navigation keys on EVERY page.

Sander, once we understand if this is a global issue or just related to export and import between two different operating systems we should report this to Elgato here:

https://developer.elgato.com/documentation/support/help-and-bug-report/

Mark

P.S.

One thing that might be better is to try using page navigation rather than full blown profile navigation. It might not have the same import issues.

Ok everyone, here is a test version of the Stream Deck profile (no changes to the X-KeyPad profile) with a new layout for the categories. It's just one folder now in the top right corner. When importing this profile, you only have to fix the assignment of pages on the first page and then copy/paste that folder to the other 9 pages. Please let me know if this new layout works for you (both the layout and the fix with copy/paste).

Many thanks for getting us going with a Stream Deck profile.  I'm running XP11 on a Windows 11 Pro machine.  I mention that because Mark has referred to possible import problems when the source originated from a Mac, which I think is the case here.

What's odd is that while the X-KeyPad Stream Deck configuration editor shows, for instance, all the numerals correctly, only the 9 shows up in the Stream Deck (and therefore on the hardware as well).  I'm guessing that this is due to the Stream Deck profile being corrupted in some way (from a Windows point of view).

StreamDeckA319profile.jpg.6095952b4daaa39d6b9151410aef40df.jpg

The keys seem to be properly set up in Stream Deck in terms of using the correct Function name, and they work.  It's just the key background image that is missing.  I hope this might help in resolving the export/import problem.

Although I have increased my Stream Deck default profile to 10 pages as suggested, I haven't been able to follow Mark's suggestion for setting the profile reference after importing.  After selecting a navigation key, I don't see anything specifying the profile, nor any parameters other than the pages in a folder.  Most grateful if someone could point out which part of the Stream Deck interface I should be looking at for this.

Thank you

@CaptainCrewe and @Sander Datema I just tried this on the latest version of the Stream Deck software on Windows 10 and it all seems to work properly. Keep in mind that I don't have the A319 so some of the keys won't function but all of the soft keypad numbers on pages 9 and 7 show up fine. What happens if you restart the stream deck software, does that make it start working? What if you flip between pages? For the keys that are missing what is showing in the property inspector for the Function: ?

@markcellis and @Sander Datema Good morning.

A reboot of Windows seems to have worked.  Perhaps cycling the Stream Deck software would have been sufficient - I think though I tried that at least once yesterday.  With the Stream Deck software loaded and the A319 profile selected, I opened XP11 today and started a flight.  I think it was the Auto Pilot folder that opened by default, all numbers showing.  As I clicked between the screens on the hardware, I did notice the icons in the Stream Deck software changing from a generic X-KeyPad icon to the one intended.  I think that is to be expected when the Stream Deck plugin link is established

Actually, a similar problem occurred when getting the Stream Deck plugin to show as connected within X-Plane 11, X-KeyPad.  It showed as disconnected despite restarting X-Plane and Stream Deck several times.  I put the PC (and myself) to bed, tried again the next day and the plug-in showed as connected right away.

All is good with this profile now (small correction to spelling of Pedestal).  Many thanks to you both for enhancing the X-Plane world.

An update on future updates. :)

I've been busy IRL and in two weeks I'm leaving for three weeks to go walking in Italy with my family. This means not much will be happening with the ToLiss profile until the beginning of September. But I'm writing this to let you know I still have plans! The ToLiss profile will receive more love and the next on the line is the Zibo 737!

Have fun in the summer!

I am using your profile with 2 XL's, and I must say it is a work of art!

In fact it was so good, I just bought 2 more XL's to add to my set up.  Thank you for sharing it.

Wow, that is quite the setup! So you can now have multiple pages open at the same time?

ledge19

I have a different page open on each XL, and it works great. I see no reason 4 won't work as well.

The XLs are given individual names so you load the profile to each one and select what page/profile you want. they do not interfere with each other. 4 open at once will enhance the experience by not having to switch menus as much. Great for your profile thank you. I will report back once the other 2 arrive.

The other 2 arrived and all 4 work fine on separate pages. I have them on a powered usb hub.

These profiles absolutely transform flying the Toliss A319/321. Thanks so much! Does anyone know if they happen to work on the Toliss a340?
