NOTAM

Just found out there is a problem with the latest version of the NAPS library and some containers have been left out of the 6.5 version. As a quick fix I’ve removed the container from the scenery and you probably won’t miss it anyway. Download the new dsf file called -41+175 and overwrite here and that should fix and problems.

This and my other airports are designed to make things to fit with the Lyndiman ortho. It’s good so it’s worth the effort of the download and you can find it here.

Video preview. Something a little different for this one.

Another new airport and this one is NZOH Ohakea Airbase. The major thing to note is the download version doesn’t look quite as good as the photos and video as it contains two generic hangars. However, it’s very easy for you to replace them with the real hangars, see below.

Upgrade NOTAM – The real airport has two curved hangars which are exactly the same as those at NZWP. I did ask Kiwki-the-iwik if I could use his hangars in this scenery but he’s not got back to me on that as yet. No problem as it’s very easy for you to do it yourself as all you need to do is move a few files. See the included “Real Hangars” folder and you will have a much better looking and more realistic airport.

Libraries – Firstly, read the “Additional Libraries” bit below. Next, search google for “X Plane Master List” and download the lot of them. I haven’t used all of those libraries in this airport but by the time I finish with New Zealand I may well have done and with other people making nice scenery it’s just useful to have everything.

Additional Libraries.

I don’t think these are part of the master list so you also need this one

https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/32135-world-models-library/

And this one but just the Overlay download part. You don’t need to touch the mesh part of the download if you don’t want to.

I’ve also started using a few trees from this library and it will probably get used a lot in future airports I make

Installation and Support - Usual stuff, download, unzip, put in Custom Scenery, moan at me if it doesn’t work. Note, I’ve now done lots of airports and it’s harder to keep track of things so if you post a comment and want a response I may miss it. So if I’ve not replied in a day or two then just send me a private message instead. I will notice those and I will always reply and try to help if I can.

Credits - Big thanks to Mr Lyndiman for the ortho, the various freeware library creators, Laminar Research, the creators of WED and Overlay, the permissions I’ve received from Robin Corn and Tim Barnes for their house objects, Royaloak, Lawrie Roache, Chris Norman, Vampire and Peter Lohr for airport modifications, Zlin142’s grass, MisterX‘s hangar, md500f and Ndorfn for the objects … and also thanks to coffee…  especially the coffee.

Donations – I don’t have a lot of money but your donation probably isn’t going to be big enough to be life changing for me. So if you feel my efforts are worth a small reward then please give a donation to somebody like Cancer Research instead where your little bit of cash might end up being life changing for somebody else.

Thank you!

mate, you are the best. I started with your NZDN and now am downloading the rest of nz. thank you for bringing my home to life in X-Plane

I updated the NAPS library and had the same problem. All fixed now thank you very much.

The new curved hangers look great by the way, makes the airport look more like it really is.

And many thanks for all your other airports.

Cheers

Can you help?

The latest Naps library is version 6.5 and this object does not exist in it. So I get an error when I load this airport.

Response from the author:

That’s really strange. Those items were in 6.4 and in my 6.5 as well when I downloaded it yesterday myself so puzzled why it’s not in your version but you’re not alone. Someone sent me a message yesterday about exactly the same thing so it’s not just you and there is something odd going on when I get the containers in my 6.5 download and now two separate people don’t have them.

Never mind. See attached which is the files you need so put that in the library and hopefully things will then work for you. Put the files here and let me know if you have any problems.
