news release from Vmax Flight:
Vmax Flight LLC and Vmax Aero Systems International are proud to
announce development of the first realistically-modeled aerobatic
simulation for the X-Plane simulation platform, "The Patty Wagstaff
Extra 300S."
Patty Wagstaff is one of the world's most popular airshow performers
and an international ambassador to aviation. She is a six-time member
of the US Aerobatic Team and has won the gold, silver and bronze medals
in Olympic-level international competition. Patty is the first woman to
win the title of US National Aerobatic champion and one of the few
people to win it three times. Patty flies a thrilling, low-level
aerobatic routine before millions of Airshow spectators each year. Her
breathtaking performances give spectators a front-row seat view of the
precision and complexity of modern hard-core aerobatics. Her smooth
aggressive style sets the standard for performers the world over.
The Extra 300S aerobatic aircraft, built in Dinslaken, Germany by Extra
Flugzeugbau, combines superb quality, maximum performance and
impeccable engineering into an aerobatic legend. With state-of-the-art
carbon fiber wings, tail and control surfaces, a steel tube fuselage,
and is powered by a Lycoming Thunderbolt 360hp engine, the 300S is the
only factory-built aircraft to consistently win against the fabled
aerobatic specials of the former Eastern Bloc.
Vmax now brings the performance of the Extra 300S along with the
precision flying skills of Patty Wagstaff to the X-Plane platform... in a simulation of her Extra 300S licensed and tested by Patty herself.Over the past years X-Plane is earned the reputation among flight simulation enthusiasts worldwide for accuracy in it's flight modeling and performance characteristics of it's simulated aircraft. The Patty Wagstaff Extra 300S will take advantage of these capabilities in X-Plane to create a simulation that accurately maps the aerodynamic forces that exist in hard-core aerobatics.
Stay tuned for more information on product features and the expected release date. In the meantime watch Patty introduce the product and see an example of the kind of precision flying she does with this amazing aircraft. The video can be seen on YouTube at:
