Hi,

XPUIPC is a plugin which "emulates" a FSUIPC interface to X-Plane. Many offsets are available to access variables according to FSUIPC offsets. The final goal is to make it possible to use addons from MS Flightsimulator with X-Plane.

It is not "finished" yet.

It is like it is, in beta stage and has the following features:

Tested with Boeing pfd, mcp and CDU and Airbus pfd
Tested on Windows VISTA, Win7 and Win2000 (Client and Server)
Tested with X-Plane 9.50 RC3
Tested with Boeing 737-300 located here: http://xplanefreeware.net/
Tested with Boeing 737-800 V3 located here: The x737 Project of Benedikt Stratmann
Max. 8 clients
Available FSUIPC Offsets -> please refer to "XPUIPC Manual" included in the new package
Offsets up to four engines coded, over 400 offsets available
You can add offsets via XPUIPCOffsets.cfg file
X-Plane 9.00+ only

Hints:

- For Project Magenta users:

To get the magenta line to work please choose in the CDU.ini a fixed directory (disable autodir, this seems not to work with Vista)
PM Sounds works fine
MCP works now fine with heading, Alt mode, LNAV, LOC and APP mode, also with the wonderfull x737 Boeing of Benedikt Stratmann

- For FreeFD users:
Alt tape now OK, speed ticker seems still have to have problems, not sure if this comes from XPUIPC..

- For x737 users:
If you use the PM mcp with the x737 the autopilot of the airplane in X-Plane is not showing the actual state of the MCP because the PM mcp has its own logic.

- For OGS users:
Should work fine now

- Use X-Plane in full screen mode on the server PC

Just put the plugin into the plugin folder of X-Plane and start X-Plane. Put the XPWideClient according to readme first!!!.txt file on the client PCs.
Works fine for me on a Quad Core 2.4 GHz with NVIDIA 8800 GTS.

Version highlights:

You can have now crowded skies e.g. on the ND of Project Magenta and other ATC showing apps. Just cranc up the Ai traffic of X-Plane...
New XPWideClient/Server for more stability, thanks to Judith for overhauling this !!
New offsets added => now over 400 are available
Peters Airbus should work now with XPUIPC

For what I can see it looks like it is Windows compatible only, so I couldn't give it a peek. Surely the broader the community, the higher the objectives that could be reached. To be fully XP compatible the Magenta Project should be ported both for Linux and Mac OS-X architectures.

I cannot see your works, but the idea is really interesting, I hope it will have a bright future.

yes at the moment for windows only because most of the apps which were connected to MS Flightsimulator via fsuipc are windows apps. What XPUIPC.xpl is doing is to emulate a fsuipc interface for X-Plane to make these apps running with X-Plane.

Recent experience has shown that, with the demise of MSFS, there are those people who can only think in terms of MSFS. In X-Plane it has been 'standard operating procedure' that what you download to the Download Manager works on Linux and Macintosh computers as well as Windows.

When people move up in the world into X-PLane they will get the 'moving from high school into paid work' feeling and we who have been here for a while will get deja vue.

"If all else fails - READ THE MANUAL - it will answer a list of questions on compatibility.

Making plugins(software) work on three operating systems is several orders of magnitude harder than any of the other content available for X-Plane. I'd say get used to not seeing triple platform software addons. It's a big ask.

your PlugIn is a realy help to support my switch from MS FSX to Austin's X-Plane 9.2 simulator. As a member of a VFR group in north Germany, one of my tools I do not want to miss is FSMAP. You can get a demo running for some days here:

I was very sad about X-Plane's instruments. The Garmin GNS will show no border lines of control areas. In combination to the global scenery, who looks the same in all German areas, it is not possible to simulate a flight under VFR conditions to a major airport.

Your PlugIn allows to connect FSMAP to X-Plane. But FSMAP will not see the position of the own plane. It reports direction, speed and hight correct, but the position is always N0.0/E0.0.

Will it be a big thing to get FSMAP running? I believe a lot of switchers from MSFS to X-Plane will love it to have a good moving map during flight operation.

Interesting idea indeed. I guess the next step would be remotely controlling FSX itself from X-Plane. That would give us access to the real FSUIPC, as well as myriads of complex avionics like GPSes or the Garmin G1000, ATC (via FSX's buildin AI, or from addon products), etc.
