X-Plane 9 bug reports Final Version only
#1

Since X-Plane 9 is now final, no need to use to report bugs about the beta version anymore.
Use this thread for X-Plane 9 release versions.
People who are still using v9 beta, need to update their version using the installer available at x-plane.com
http://x-plane.com/demo.html
Note! This thread is for bug reports, not general tech support. There's obviously a big gray area, but don't be offended when someone replies with "not a bug". If you're unclear about what's going on, use Cuuby's Corner instead.

Running XP 9RC3 (Linux build) - just tried batch update in Airfoil-Maker, it seems that it 1) only searches the Airfoils directory, and so doesn't get to airfoils in the Aircraft directory, and 2) doesn't actually update anything - after running it, I see timestamps changed, but many of the airfoils are still version 7 format, and the checksums match the original files (i.e. nothing was actually changed). Seems that the batch update function is sorta broken...

Hooray! A new, manageable thread for bugs. The old one had become almost unusable due to sheer size.
Thanks, Nicholas.
Thanks, Nicholas.

Runing x-plane v9.00 on Windows XP 4GB RAM - nvidia 7900GS driver v.: 169.21 - Directx 9.0c
Control - O to have the cockpit 3D view resets to "look down at the seat" sometimes, when other view mode is selected. Also the initial Ctl-o view should be looking forward not downward.

Another one:
When on the map mode (Environment -> Local Map) you get to the weight and balance setting and close the window, it goes to simulation mode. There should be a way to return to the map, to make other adjustments before returning to flight.

As i'm abroad frequently, and i never take a joystick with me, i'm flying x-plane on a laptop by keyboard.
What annoys me most is that the open squary bracket key doesn't do what is expected from what i see in the keyboard settings panel. I expect it do pitch-down-trimming, but what it actually does is disconnecting the autopilot!?!
Also ALT-key combinations can not be assigned to actions at all.
Hope these issues can be solved easily, so that we don't have to wait for too long.

Manual trim input by the "pilot" disconnecting the AP is not a bug - it's a "feature" which has been present since early betas of 9.00.
On the ALT thing, some combinations may not be usable because they are seen by the Windows OS and not by X-Plane - an example of this is ALT-TAB which brings up a list of all active application windows (not just the foreground app). There may be a way of over-riding this for your purposes, but you'll need a Windows guru to help out with that. An alternative explanation is that you have corrupt X-Plane preference files or application - searching the org for relevant stuff is what you need to do.

Anyone else getting very slow animation of the carrier in replay mode? It looks like everything is running at normal speed except the carrier which appears to be jerking along at 2 fps - almost unusable, certainly not pleasant! - much like my heli landings, which is why I need replay, to try and see where I'm going wrong ;-)
