Sounds like too much rotor pitch, that's causing the rpm to drop & low rpm lets the blades flap too much. Lower the collective after you take off & gain speed...
Try looking at the Carter Copter available here by Mark Fisher - he's also got a POH that tells you how to fly it, it's not like any other gyro or helicopter out there.
