I had a question about using/purchasing the CH Products yoke and called their offices today. They told me the yoke would work on Apple systems through OS10.3. Then he added that they were not planning on supporting the Mac in the future (after 10.3), so I asked if it would be all right if I announced this on the X-Plane forum and he said that would be o.k. Does anyone know if the CH products are working with the Intel macs?

I think they work, other stuff (thrustmaster stick..) works without problems.. I`m just kinda confused now that ch said that they will no longer support mac.. 10.3.9 is an old version, current version is 10.4.8 or something, meaning that support should have stopped quite a while ago..

As long as CH Products' are built to the USB HID standard they'll work on MacOS. I can't see CH going any other way, because they'd have to do a bunch of custom driver software for Windows as well. This just sounds like they don't want to answer the phone from Mac users anymore and/or can't be bothered with a bit of testing.

It's a shame they're doing this; they're walking away from a market that doesn't really cost them anything.

I have the yoke and pedals set. Both work fine in the latest version of OS X. I'm actually a bit surprised they would make such a statement.

I wonder if this is actually any news...

I don't think that CH Products have released any Mac drivers for their stuff for ages. Not for OSX anyway. But I could be wrong - maybe I've just missed them.

System specs: OSX 10.5.8, 2.8GHz Quad Intel Xeon, nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB, 4GB RAM
+ Eizo FlexScan S2431W at 1920x1200 res.
+ CH Products 568 Combatstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals.

X-Plane: 9.45

Well I would think that CH Products never had to do anything on the Mac Platform at all with getting their products to work, as Apple most likely either... has default drivers for everything.... and X-Plane supports them with it's own drivers also.

The real issue is that extra features are not supported without special drivers. The new CH Multi Function Panel isn't going to work on your Mac because it is dependent on the PC-Only Control Manager software. Basic Joystick and buttons support aren't the real issues, it's the extra functions and programability that Mac users, like myself, loose out on.

Hi Ron , Have you tried running windows programs? are they slower running then when running the Mac OS? Could you run MS flight simulator? I am presently using an eMac and it does run XPlane but not to well. I am looking forward to getting a computer like yours
