Even if the read me stipulates free redistribution, it's better if you contact the guys and ask for their permission first, just common courtesy. Usually they're happy to see their work taken to x-plane and used by even more people.

KJAC we have already, but not sure where it comes from since it does not appear in my custom scenery file as an individual file. Must be part of some other package i have in xp 8.64

I am not sure about the other arguments. But this does not look like the Jackson Hole airport at all, not even close. I fly in there about 4 times a year to see my daughter so I know what it looks like.

My toes are fine; I just get a bit miffed at armchair experts who try to dictate to others about these (and other) things. I teach seminars and do tutorials at the university level for students writing research papers and I have a very clear and complete understanding of copyright. If an item is free and entered into the public domain, the only legal responsibility is to give clear credit to the author for his work. If the author places restrictions on his work, they should be respected; if there are none, then the matter becomes one of common sense and courtesy. If the item is for sale, the matter is quite different, as the author has his income to protect and open distribution becomes very restricted. The conversion of files to the X-Plane format is technically a translation, which is allowed if there is no intentional alteration of the "sense" of the material (easier to understand for written material -i.e. books). I have not heard of those touchy MSFS authors, but I did find a scenery file in which the author specifically forbade conversion to another format; I did NOT convert this file, even for my own use. I hope this helps clarify things a bit.
