Diamond DA20-A1 Katana by barbarossa 20100311 (startet 200911)
X-Plane v945
AIRCRAFT DESCRIPTION
A/C: Diamond DA20-A1 Katana (successor of the DV20-A1 Katana)
A/C YEAR: 1995
SEATS: Two
MAX T/O WEIGHT: 1609 lbs (730 kg)
ENGINE: Rotax 912. 80 hp (59.6 kW) at 2550 RPM. Propeller drive via integrated reduction gear.
PROP: Two-bladed variable pitch propeller, 5 ft 6.9 in (1.70 m). Constant speed, hydraulic pitch control.
Built form scratch for my personal education after the plane I take my PPL lessons on.
Thank to the information on the X-Plane.org and
the great tutorials of danklaue I am able to share this one.
I use it to get more familiar with the real plane and PlaneMaker.
So every data is as correct as I can get them (or want them for now).
If you find something missing, add it and share please!
If something is wrong, tell me or send me a fix!
If you fly it, enjoy!
FAETURES
- checklist for the Checklister plugin, check it out!
- full functional 2d cockpit
- trackIR flyable (I almost only fly it this way)
- animated Pilot by beber
- weapon objects to simulate different loadings (check the Ordnance menu)
- every information taken from the manuals or personal experience
- nosewheel-steering (CHEAT, removed with UPDATE 20100309)
- mixture handle for cold starts which it actually does not have. so you put it to rich once the plane is loaded and then follow your checklist for the start and runup procedure
KNOWN BUGS
- no one built a 3d cockpit yet (did you?)
- unfinished (but will grow up some more, I hope)
UPDATE 20100311
- flaps: lift increased
- ground handling improved (friction reduced to standard)
- exterior added/modified
- luggage now visible (just a tube, but you will know if you have a big, small or no bag at all)
UPDATE 20100309
- NEW langing gear as misc wings and bodys
- NEW wheel fairings
- some MISC BODIES
- HSTAB and wings remodeled
- Nose wheel is now free-castoring
UPDATE 20100226
- NEW livery
- checklist modified, triggers still need work
- fuselage modified
- weight / cg modified a bit
- flaps fixed (V FE1 set to V A = 104)
UPDATE 20100215
- checklist added
- fuselage refined
- livery refined
- livery with visible glass added, but the pilot will not be
UPDATE 20100210
- sound closer to the real thing
- adopted bretts method of distributing weight by placing weapon objects
- flight model yet a bit closer
