RAF Coningsby – Home of the RAFs' Eurofighters
This is a conversion the RAF Coningsby (EGXC) MSFS2004 scenery by John Young of the UKMIL group. There's a huge amount of detail in this scenery including photoreal ground textures for the airfield from Just Flight's SE England VFR package.
RAF Coningsby is situated in Lincolnshire in Eastern England, about 15 miles NE of Sleaford. It is the home of the Eurofighter Typhoon in the UK and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Tornados and Harriers of 41 Squadron also frequent the main apron as The Fast Jet and Weapons Operational Evaluation Unit. The Southern area Quick Reaction Alert force is also based at Coningsby and is shared by 3 Squadron (Typhoon) and 25 Squadron (Tornado) on a rotational basis.
Thanks to John Young and the UKMIL group for allowing the conversion and posting of this great scenery, and to Just Flight for also allowing the inclusion of the ground textures in the X-Plane version. The screen shot with the VFR label in the package shows the airfield in the context of Just Flight's VFR scenery. The static Typhoon was produced by Gaffer at UKMIL. Please read the original MSFS documentation contained in the folder of that name, and visit the UKMIL website where they host lots of other outstanding freeware for MSFS.
Reason for update: No change to scenery but X-Plane manual & Download Manager text updated to include new acknowledgements at the request of the original author.
