Are your eyes getting bad? Did you do something that upset your favourite planemaker? Do you know what altimeter and QNH are, and do you care?
VisualAltimeter is a plugin for a bit more serious pilots who actually cares about altimeter and it's function. This plugin has three purposes:
1) Clearify what altimetersetting/QNH you have dialed in.
We all know that certain aircrafts altimetersetting is unreadable. It's small and sometimes not all numbers are shown. You sometimes need a magnifyingglass. To help you with this a small box shows the numbers while you are changing it. It disappears after 1 second again. See the screenshot. It explains it all.
2) To show QNH.
Many, many aircrafts only provides a reading for the US system and have no switch to change to QNH mode. In europe the term QNH is used and are pretty different.
3) Automaticly set current altimeter. (bonus feature)
MSFS has this function when pressing a key. With this plugin the same feature is avaible for X-Plane. Press SHIFT+CTRL+B and it simply changes your altimeter setting to the current published altimeter. It also takes into consideration if you are above 18000feet where altimeter should be 2992 at all times.
Enjoy yet another more or less useless creation from your friendly snail.
